Nisse

Nisse is a God-level Deity, the younger sister of Salomon, and the wife of Bebe. She meets Bebe during an escort mission across the Infernal Realm and reciprocates his playful affection, but Salomon’s conflict with Linley Baruch divides the new couple at a deadly moment. Nisse later rejects that separation, crosses continents to find Bebe, and builds a family while continuing to insist that her marriage need not erase her bond with her brother. Biography

Meeting Bebe and Salomon's Conflict

Nisse first encounters Bebe aboard the metallic lifeform carrying a large Fiend escort mission. She initially calls the straw-hatted stranger annoying after catching him staring, but his pursuit quickly becomes mutual: within three days they are together, and after six years they are recognized throughout the vessel as a couple. Their affection is expressed through equal teasing rather than one-sided courtship. Nisse matches Bebe’s wit, jokes that only foolishness could make her fall for him, and visibly enjoys the suggestion that they already resemble spouses. (Chapters 482–483).

The mission’s dangers make that relationship consequential. Separated from both Bebe and Salomon inside a castle of sand, Nisse is hunted by a Highgod and thinks of the two people closest to her as death approaches. When she sees Bebe too far away to intervene, she regrets that she cannot speak with him one last time; Linley and Bebe nevertheless attack immediately and save her. Nisse’s vulnerability reflects the gulf between a God and a Highgod, but her response also establishes that Bebe has become as central to her emotional life as the older brother who previously formed her entire family. That bond is tested when Salomon’s hidden connection to the Boyd clan is exposed. Salomon wrongly concludes that Linley betrayed him, turns on the group, and asks a stronger enemy to kill Linley; Nisse is shaken by seeing the venom in the brother she knew as warm and protective. Amid the accusations, she partially doubts whether Bebe’s approach to her was sincere. Bebe still plunges into the liquefied Goldflame after Linley and Delia, and when Nisse learns that Linley was innocent, she recognizes that Bebe never deceived her and that he risked himself for the people he loved. Believing Bebe dead, Nisse tries to approach the fatal magma pool and has to be restrained by Salomon. She preserves the straw hat Bebe gave her and clings to the possibility that his unusual defenses allowed him to survive, but the party’s enemies insist that everyone below the Goldflame died. The resulting grief lasts for more than a thousand years and changes her behavior toward Salomon: she becomes withdrawn and rarely smiles, while Bebe, equally convinced that they have lost each other, remains unable to forget her. Their separation therefore punishes both partners and leaves Salomon’s false accusation as an unresolved fracture within his only close family bond. (Chapters 501, 507–508, 610).

Marriage, Clan, and Family

Nisse’s grief ends when she overhears reports about an Azure Dragon Elder named Linley and insists on viewing the battle recording despite Salomon’s attempts to discourage her. Seeing Linley, Delia, and Bebe alive gives her certainty, and she immediately decides to travel from the Jadefloat Continent to Indigo Prefecture. Salomon argues that a God cannot safely make such a journey and watches her closely, but Nisse refuses to yield, leaves him a letter, and departs the following month. Her choice is not passive rescue: she accepts the danger of crossing the Starmist Sea to reach Bebe herself. (Chapters 610–612).

At the Skyrite Mountains, Nisse identifies herself to the patrols as Linley’s friend and arrives wearing the straw hat Bebe gave her. She worries that Bebe may reject her because of Salomon’s conduct, but when he appears she rushes forward, embraces him, and explains that she traveled without her brother. That fact dissolves Bebe’s remaining hesitation, and the two refuse to separate again. After living together in the gorge for decades, Nisse becomes pregnant; she and Bebe arrange a formal wedding, and months later she gives birth to their daughter, Ina. (Chapters 612–614).

Marriage does not cause Nisse to abandon Salomon. After Bebe becomes a Highgod, she reminds him of his promise to escort her back to the Jadefloat Continent and is hurt to discover that he made it only to postpone the subject. Nisse acknowledges Salomon’s wrongdoing but insists that he regretted falsely accusing Linley, compelling Bebe to confront the tension rather than dismiss her remaining family tie. Bebe finally agrees to make the journey for her sake, while Nisse jointly decides that Ina is still too vulnerable to accompany them. Salomon apologizes during the visit, allowing Nisse to preserve contact without demanding friendship between the two men. (Chapters 621–622).

Nisse thereafter appears as an active member of a family of three and of Linley’s broader traveling household. She accompanies Bebe and Ina to the Yulan Plane, later joins expeditions through the Infernal Realm, and guides the group toward Blacksand Castles, explaining how buyers must judge and bargain over uncertain curios. Years later, in Goodhope City, she takes Ina to visit Salomon even though Bebe declines to join them. The local evidence thus shows one daughter, Ina, and a durable marriage in which Nisse maintains her own relationship with her brother despite the men’s continuing estrangement. (Chapters 622, 624, 630, 736, 738).

Appearance and personality

When first seen, Nisse appears as an adorable young woman with braids, large eyes, and a sly, playful expression. On reaching the Skyrite Mountains much later, she wears her hair in a ponytail and is described as attractive, with Bebe’s straw hat making her immediately recognizable to the patrol warrior sent to announce her arrival. (Chapters 482, 612–613).

Nisse is witty, affectionate, and determined. Her teasing lets her meet Bebe on equal terms, while her responses to crisis show intense loyalty complicated by understandable uncertainty: she regrets doubting him, refuses Salomon’s effort to suppress hope, and undertakes a dangerous intercontinental journey once she learns the truth. Within marriage, she is neither submissive nor needlessly confrontational; she directly holds Bebe to his word and advocates for reconciliation without denying the harm Salomon caused. Abilities and cultivation

Nisse is a God-level Deity throughout the documented events. The difference between her power and that of Highgods is explicit when a Highgod’s Godrealm slows her inside the castle of sand and when Salomon warns that she is too weak to travel safely between continents. No named combat technique or exceptional battle feat is attributed to her, yet she survives the escort mission and later completes the journey from the Jadefloat Continent to the Bloodridge Continent without Salomon’s protection. Her demonstrated strengths outside combat include practical knowledge of Infernal Realm travel and commerce. During the group’s later wanderings, Nisse recommends visiting the Blacksand Castle and explains its fourth-floor market, where authenticity is not guaranteed and a buyer’s judgment and bargaining determine whether a purchase is a fraud or a bargain. Relationships

• Bebe: Nisse and Bebe begin as playful equals, become a couple within days, and remain emotionally committed even while each believes the other lost. Nisse crosses continents to reunite with him, marries him, gives birth to Ina, and later insists that he respect her need to address the conflict with Salomon. (Chapters 482–483, 489, 501, 610–614, 621–622).
• Salomon: Salomon is Nisse’s older brother and, after their parents’ deaths, initially her only remaining family. His accusation against Linley causes Nisse to doubt Bebe and fractures their sibling relationship, but she still recognizes his lifelong devotion to her and later secures an apology that permits continued contact without erasing his wrongdoing. • Linley Baruch: Linley saves Nisse from a Highgod, is wrongly accused by Salomon, and later welcomes her at the Skyrite Mountains.
