Yan Three is the youngest and most irreverent of the three ancient Yama ancestors who become Yun Che's servants.

Biography

The loudest Yama ancestor

Yan Three has existed in the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness for roughly eight hundred thousand years, bound to its sustaining darkness with Yan One and Yan Two. Yun Che's superior control of darkness strips away their resistance and gives them a master able to bring their power back into the world. Yan Three becomes an enthusiastic enforcer in the divine-region wars and remains openly competitive with his brothers over who serves best. Against Mo Beichen, all three tear apart their ancient bodies to protect Yun Che; even while dying, Yan Three insists that his own contribution was greatest. Appearance and personality

Yan Three is a shriveled ancient man wrapped in exceptionally dense devilish energy. He is coarse, excitable, boastful, and quicker than his brothers to turn service into a competition. Beneath the noise lies uncomplicated loyalty: the prospect of dying after saving Yun Che satisfies him more than continued existence in the Bone Sea. (Chapters 1683–1690 and 1947)

Abilities and cultivation

Like the other Yama ancestors, Yan Three is a level-ten Divine Master strengthened by an immense accumulation of Yama darkness. He can overwhelm ordinary Divine Masters and battle Dragon Gods, but cannot resist Yun Che's Eternal Calamity of Darkness or independently bridge the gap to a Half-God. Mo Beichen's attack annihilates his already-broken body after the ancestors complete their rescue. (Chapters 1683–1690 and 1944–1947)
