Su Hengshan

Su Hengshan is the master of Grandwake Clan and the father of Su Ling’er.

Biography

A gentle clan master freed from his burden

Su Hengshan welcomes the visiting Yun Che after Yun Che protects Ling’er and speaks to him without the suspicion expected from a faction leader. His fairness leaves him vulnerable to Su Hengyue, Seven Stars Divine Palace, and ambitious clan members seeking Grandwake's hidden treasure. Years later he is imprisoned, tortured, and left as the final survivor of the loyalists who defended his authority. Yun Che returns to Azure Cloud, rescues him, destroys the usurpers, and transfers the survivors to the Illusory Demon Realm. There Hengshan relinquishes the office that never suited him and begins a peaceful life near his daughter. (Chapters 262–288 and 870–919)

Appearance and personality

Su Hengshan is a middle-aged man with a warm laugh, calm bearing, and openly affectionate manner toward Ling’er. He is principled and compassionate but poorly suited to ruthless factional politics, preferring trust and restraint even when opponents exploit both. Freedom from clan responsibility leaves him visibly happier. (Chapters 262–288 and 870–919)

Abilities and cultivation

As Grandwake Clan Master, Su Hengshan possesses strong cultivation by his region's standards and the experience to lead its loyal disciples. He cannot overcome the combined betrayal of internal rivals and Seven Stars Divine Palace, and prolonged captivity leaves him near death until Yun Che intervenes.
