Tarnasha is a Boutan cleric who supports Mynasha’s bid in the Choosing and advises Eryk’s group during its journey through the Caliphate. Her practical magic and knowledge of the trials help the party navigate both political disputes and dangerous terrain. (Chapters 292–318)

Biography

Adviser during the Choosing

Tarnasha is first introduced as a cleric whom Glasha wants Mynasha to consult before the Choosing. She is associated with an isolated cabin near a minor nexus, where Mynasha trains to channel aether. The encounter shows her role as an adviser whose knowledge can help prepare the candidate, though Mynasha’s effort to impress her leaves the younger cleric exhausted. (Chapters 292–294)

Tarnasha travels with Glasha and the others during the journey toward the trials. She rides with the group, shares knowledge about the routes and threats, and offers to grease the shale before a cave encounter so that pursuing enemies will lose their footing. Her contribution is practical and timely rather than ceremonial. (Chapters 295–296)

Political and trial support

After Eryk reaches the Caliphate, he learns that Tarnasha has been arguing with the Elders over the protocols for the Choosing. She helps arrange Eryk’s entry as Mynasha’s First and later meets the returning group at the Elders’ valley. When Maveith is detained during the trials, Tarnasha explains the situation and helps Eryk understand the political consequences. (Chapters 303–304, 312–314)

Tarnasha remains beside Glasha and Mynasha as the final trial approaches. She explains what the Elders must verify after the dungeon and asks whether the other candidates will return. Her concern shows that her allegiance is not just procedural: the outcome of the Choosing will determine whether Mynasha’s campaign succeeds. (Chapters 318)
