Mynasha
Mynasha is a powerful war cleric who seeks the Caliphate’s Supreme seat because she wants to protect its people and shape their future. Her campaign tests her judgment as well as her magic: she must win support, complete the Elders’ trials, and survive challenges from rival candidates. (Chapters 290, 303–318)
Biography
A candidacy rooted in public duty
Mynasha is one of the strongest clerics of her generation, but she lacks the political backing needed to reach the Choosing. She says that her rivals covet the title for prestige and influence, while she wants to safeguard the people. Glasha believes Mynasha’s conviction needs allies and practical political support, and recruits Eryk’s group to escort her to Becar. (Chapter 290)
At first, Mynasha is proud and impatient, and she has little experience navigating the political arena. The journey gives her time to know Eryk and his companions. She teaches him Telhian in exchange for his help with Orcish, while the group learns more about the Caliphate’s competing clans and the danger surrounding the vacant Supreme seat. (Chapters 291–293)
The trials and the rival candidates
Mynasha’s campaign becomes more complicated when she learns that powerful warlords and clerics are backing rivals. She accepts Eryk as her First, despite his being a human rather than a warlord, and relies on him through the Elders’ trials. The tests range from capturing pixies to seeking help from the Titans; Mynasha’s position remains precarious as the political balance shifts around her. (Chapters 303–313)
When the Elders choose Jhuarkasha as the next Supreme, Mynasha faces one final trial in a demon-filled dungeon. She and Eryk enter before their rivals, fight through the chambers, and recover the required demon horns. Mynasha uses her lightning to defend them and defeat threats, while also supporting Eryk when he is trapped by the ice demon. They return first, and the Elders confirm Mynasha as the next Supreme, with her coronation planned for the following morning. (Chapters 314–318)
Delivering the promise to the goliaths
Mynasha’s rise matters to Eryk’s party because she promises to free Maveith’s sister, Zorana, and Myra if she becomes Supreme. After her victory, she takes the office and issues the promised edicts that free goliaths held in the Caliphate. This fulfills a concrete political commitment rather than leaving the sisters’ status as a campaign promise. (Chapters 302, 318)
Eryk’s party then helps bring the captives home, allowing Maveith to reunite with Zorana and their father. The homecoming gives the edict a visible consequence for a family that had been separated for years, and it allows Mynasha’s political victory to change the lives of people beyond the Caliphate’s capital. (Chapters 324–325)
Appearance and personality
Mynasha is an orc cleric with pale-gray eyes and tusks. She is proud of her power and can be impatient, but her stated concern for the Caliphate’s people is sincere. Over the course of her campaign, she shows more restraint and humor, and she becomes attentive to the people who help her succeed. (Chapters 290–292, 314–318)
Magic and abilities
Mynasha specializes in lightning magic. Her lightning can strike at range, and she uses lightning shields and an aura that slows nearby enemies while sparing her allies. She can draw aether from ley lines around a nexus, which gives her far more capacity during the dungeon trials, though directing lightning through the dungeon’s colored glowstones is difficult. (Chapters 293, 314–315)
In the demon dungeon, Mynasha uses lightning to destroy blood stirges, protect herself and Eryk, and hinder the hellhound and ice demon. The defensive spells help them survive, but the channeling takes a sustained effort and leaves her exhausted when she stops drawing aether. (Chapters 314–317)
