Three Terminal Formation

The Three Terminal Formation is a demon assassination array designed to prevent escape, outside intervention, and karmic warning while its operators kill a trapped target with Great Destruction Rays. The demon Imperial Lords supply it for the attempt on Meng Chuan's life, with Patriarch Yellow Oscillate, Demon Sage North Sense, and Longswim serving as its field team.

History

A precise ambush fails when its operators fall

Longswim lays out the prefabricated formation equipment while Yellow Oscillate and North Sense take their assigned positions. The work demands precision: a single setup error can significantly change the result. When Meng Chuan enters at extreme speed, the three activate it just in time, cutting off his transmission token and preventing the external power of Clear Sky from descending. (Chapters 353 and 358–359)

The trap's own redundancy lets it continue after Meng Chuan kills Longswim: three operators can power it perfectly, while two can barely maintain a weakened version. Meng Chuan then destroys North Sense's avatar, leaving Yellow Oscillate unable to sustain the array for long. The formation begins collapsing before he can dismantle it, restores Meng Chuan's outside contact, and is abandoned as Yellow Oscillate flees and is killed. The corpus does not establish any later reuse or custody. (Chapters 360–362)

Abilities and properties

The formation blocks three routes of survival. It seals the surrounding world against descending external power, locks spacetime to prevent spatial escape, and obscures karmic heavenly secrets so distant experts cannot sense a protected person's danger. It also condenses Great Destruction Rays as its principal killing attack. (Chapter 359)

In its intended configuration, demon sages would power an Imperial Lord-level killing array capable of reliably killing opponents below the Imperial Lord realm. The deployed team consists only of fifth Firmament demon monarch bodies or avatars, so its strength is sharply reduced even though its sealing functions remain dangerous. Operator attacks—including Yellow Oscillate's saber and North Sense's illusion—can be layered with the formation's rays. (Chapters 359–360)

The array has two demonstrated limits. It depends on multiple operators for full strength, weakening after one dies and collapsing after a second is lost. It also cannot erase the intrinsic connection between an Origins treasure and Archean Mountain: although Clear Sky cannot summon external power inside the seal, the sect can still locate it and dispatch help. (Chapters 360–362)
