Silvermoon

Silvermoon is an awakened Silvermoon Wolf soul who first appears as the independent spirit of a wolf-headed jade scepter. After saving Han Li from a possessed Four-Pupiled Fox, she uses Soul Devouring to take that fox as a host and negotiates a binding partnership with him. What begins as a mutual survival agreement develops into years of scouting, illusion work, advice, protection, and trust during some of Han Li's most vulnerable cultivation periods.

Her identity later expands beyond the name she chose. Silvermoon is revealed as Xue Ling, one of two souls produced when the Silvermoon Wolf princess Ling Long split herself through a secret technique; Long Meng is the other. Their recombination restores Ling Long but initially suppresses Silvermoon's agency under Long Meng's dominance. A careful account therefore treats Silvermoon, Long Meng, and recombined Ling Long as connected states of one original being without attributing one soul's choices automatically to the other. Biography

Awakening, the fox host, and a binding bargain

Silvermoon regains awareness while housed in a red-and-yellow wolf-headed jade scepter, despite the normal erosion of consciousness suffered by a refined artifact spirit. She remembers only fragments of belonging to the Silver Wolves and lacks her original name. When a Four-Pupiled Fox controlled by the Cadaver Demon attacks Han Li, the artifact spirit intervenes independently, protects him from the illusion assault, and devours the hostile possessing soul rather than remaining an obedient tool. She then occupies the fox body and names herself Silvermoon Wolf. The host gives her movement and a temporary human transformation, but it is not her original body: the fox's innate appearance and the Cadaver Demon's prior possession remain separate from Silvermoon's identity. She explains the restrictions on Soul Devouring and proposes becoming Han Li's artifact spirit because she believes his hidden resources give him a plausible chance of reaching Deity Transformation and eventually freeing her. Han Li accepts only after imposing restrictions, and Silvermoon accepts because remaining with a cautious cultivator offers better odds than returning to mindless artifact servitude. Neither initially mistakes the arrangement for unconditional loyalty. The bargain gives Han Li a concealed scout and gives Silvermoon access to protection, cultivation resources, and a possible route upward; their later attachment grows from repeatedly honoring these practical terms. Companion through seclusion and danger

Silvermoon proves her value during Han Li's Nascent Soul preparations by guarding seclusion, moving through earth and restrictions, and using illusion arts to conceal his vulnerable periods. She can impersonate him, lure or capture targets, hide spiritual qi inside her body, and provide a second perspective on suspicious plans. These actions move her from a powerful resident of an item to a companion trusted with secrets that would be fatal if exposed. (Chapters 631–646, 668–672)

Her service retains personality rather than becoming mechanical obedience. Silvermoon teases Han Li, questions decisions, warns him about dangers he has discounted, and expresses a desire to be treated as more than an ordinary artifact spirit. She assists with the second Nascent Soul plan, infiltration, and intelligence gathering while continuing to cultivate the fox host, whose ability to maintain human form increases over time. The master-servant restriction remains real, but the emotional relationship becomes increasingly reciprocal. (Chapters 647–720, 731–855)

Han Li, in turn, protects her existence and seeks ways to shift her life-linked spirit away from the vulnerable jade scepter. Their cooperation around his Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords reflects that concern, but Silvermoon is never reduced to a sword ability: she acts autonomously, can refuse unsafe medicine for the fox body, and retains goals centered on recovering memory and freedom. Xue Ling, Long Meng, and recombination

During the Kunwu crisis, other Silvermoon Wolf figures recognize her as Xue Ling and reveal that her missing history belongs to Ling Long, a princess who split into two souls while cultivating a secret art. Long Meng, the other soul, has a separate memory, temperament, and agenda. The disclosure explains Silvermoon's instinctive wolf abilities and incomplete past without making her years beside Han Li false; Xue Ling is the soul that made those choices while separated. The arrival of Yuan Cha makes separation untenable. Long Meng demands recombination because only restored Ling Long has enough power to oppose the threat and return to the Spirit Realm. Silvermoon agrees under extreme pressure, and Han Li releases her despite the personal loss. The fused Ling Long survives and escapes, but Long Meng is initially dominant, meaning Silvermoon's memories and affection continue inside the whole while her immediate agency is suppressed. Han Li's role in the crisis is protective rather than possessive: he helps Xue Ling survive the confrontation and allows the reunion needed for her broader identity, even though it ends their daily companionship. The resulting Ling Long is continuity of both split souls, not a new stranger and not simply Silvermoon under another title. This distinction remains important when later emotional injuries and cultivation failures are attributed to the unresolved feelings carried from Silvermoon's years with Han Li. Spirit Realm duty and emotional recovery

Back in the Spirit Realm, Ling Long bears responsibilities to the Silvermoon Wolf race and the legacy of Patriarch Ao Xiao. Repeated failures to enter Body Integration are linked to both abuse by Wolf Monarch Tian Kui and unresolved feelings for Han Li. Ao Xiao offers the Art of Indifference as an emergency route: it can suppress the emotional turmoil blocking her advancement, but successful cultivation threatens to sever the very attachments that make Silvermoon's earlier self meaningful. She accepts that cost during wartime and successfully reaches early Body Integration. The result gives her the strength to fulfill leadership duties, yet it leaves her emotionally distant until renewed contact with Han Li and Ao Xiao begins restoring connection. Her progression is therefore not a simple triumph over weakness; the technique solves a breakthrough crisis by treating feeling as the obstacle, and later development requires recovering what that solution suppressed. Silvermoon later guards Han Li's Grand Ascension breakthrough and remains one of his closest old allies through his departure from the Spirit Realm. In the final lower-realm scene, she stands with Nangong Wan, Yan Li, and Ice Phoenix during Yuan Yao's ascension tribulation; all four observers are Grand Ascension cultivators. She cannot approach the heavenly lightning, but her presence confirms that the bond formed during artifact servitude survives freedom, recombination, and immense advancement. Appearance and personality

Silvermoon first exists visibly as a wolf spirit within a jade scepter, then inhabits a small snow-white Four-Pupiled Fox. Her temporary human form is an alluring young woman with clear black eyes and exceptional grace, but that appearance comes from the fox host rather than her lost original body. Recombined Ling Long is a silver-haired Silvermoon Wolf princess whose bearing reflects a status Silvermoon could not remember during her time with Han Li. (Chapters 609–616, 633, 668, 1040–1074)

She is intelligent, observant, tactful, proud, and often teasing. Silvermoon gives strategically candid advice even when Han Li would prefer reassurance, and her loyalty develops through shared risk rather than automatic artifact obedience. Her later conflict shows the cost of that emotional depth: attachment contributes to failed breakthroughs, but total indifference is presented as an injury of its own. Her recovery preserves both responsibility to her race and personal affection. (Chapters 615–668, 703–855, 1973–2202)

Abilities and cultivation

Silvermoon's early power has two simultaneous foundations: a late-Core-equivalent artifact spirit whose cultivation has stagnated, and a newly occupied demon-fox host beginning at grade one. Later recombination restores the Silvermoon Wolf princess's broader cultivation path. These states are not a single clean human ladder, and temporary effects from a host or secret technique should not be presented as permanent realm attainments. Soul Devouring and host possession

Soul Devouring is an instinctive Silvermoon Wolf ability that directly attacks and consumes a soul. Silvermoon can use it as an artifact spirit because of her original species, and the Four-Pupiled Fox is an especially favorable target because that species is innately vulnerable to Silvermoon Wolves and its true soul has already been displaced by the Cadaver Demon. The technique is heavily restricted and risks Silvermoon's destruction against a stronger spiritual sense, so it is not a general answer to every opponent. (Chapters 614–616)

Successful use lets her seize the empty fox host, gaining its movement, illusion talent, and potential human form. The host must cultivate separately, begins weak, and cannot safely consume every human cultivation pill. Silvermoon prefers slower, compatible training over risking damage from unsuitable medicine. Increasing cultivation extends her human transformation, but the body remains a borrowed vessel rather than evidence that she was originally a fox. (Chapters 615–616, 631–633, 668, 798)

Illusion, concealment, and movement

Silvermoon can create convincing human disguises, impersonate Han Li, conceal spiritual qi, move through earth, and use illusion-based attacks or interrogation support. These abilities make her especially valuable in scouting, infiltration, protecting seclusion, and capturing enemies without announcing Han Li's location. Her concealment is strong but not absolute: she acknowledges that high-level old eccentrics may still detect her, and deception remains vulnerable to superior spiritual sense or prior knowledge. Seven Star Moon Physique and Art of Indifference

After recombination, her Silvermoon Wolf heritage includes the Seven Star Moon Physique. Repeated Body Integration failures lead Ao Xiao to prescribe the Art of Indifference, a technique that suppresses emotional disturbances strongly enough to permit advancement. Silvermoon uses it because wartime duty and racial leadership leave little time for another route, and she reaches early Body Integration. The cost is genuine emotional detachment; later contact with Han Li and Ao Xiao helps restore connection rather than leaving indifference as her final perfected state. Relationships

• Han Li: Master by their original binding agreement, later trusted companion and enduring emotional attachment. He protects her autonomy during the Long Meng crisis and never treats understood personhood as ordinary ownership.
• Long Meng: The other soul split from Ling Long. She has distinct memories and motives, then becomes initially dominant after recombination; her actions should not be retroactively assigned to Silvermoon.
• Ling Long: The original whole and later recombined identity containing both Xue Ling and Long Meng. Silvermoon's history continues within Ling Long even when her separate agency is suppressed.
• Patriarch Ao Xiao: Senior of the Silvermoon Wolf line who guides her through repeated breakthrough failures, gives her the Art of Indifference, and helps restore her emotional balance afterward.
• Yuan Yao and Nangong Wan: Old allies whose final lower-realm tribulation scene places Silvermoon within a circle of women connected by Han Li and their own independent cultivation histories.
