Biography

Losing the Iron Palm Gang to Feng Qi

Qiu builds the Iron Palm Gang into a force stronger than the Feng Family through personal mastery, numerous members, and control of Luyang's transport and protection businesses. When Feng Qi appears to defect, Qiu agrees to hear him out because a Heavenly Demon could strengthen the gang. Du Ge exploits that opening, attacks from behind, and keeps stabbing despite Qiu breaking his arm with Iron Palm. Badly wounded and unable to dislodge an opponent who heals instantly, Qiu bargains for cooperation to survive, only to lose command while unconscious as Du Ge renames and reforms the gang. (Chapters 8, 21, and 29–32)

Qiu's children and loyal hall masters attempt to rescue him, but Feng Qi uses the captive leader to divide their responses and consolidate Luyang. Continued injury destroys Qiu's reputation and combat independence. By the gathering with Tong Shihong, he has learned that impulsive resistance only invites further humiliation and silently warns his old friend not to challenge Du Ge. (Chapters 34–55)

Appearance and personality

Qiu is a proud, hard-headed gang leader with a realistic understanding of how wealth and rank are acquired in the martial world. Even when severely wounded, he bargains quickly and tries to preserve his organization rather than die for appearances. (Chapters 29–30)

Martial abilities

Qiu is a top martial master famous for Iron Sand Palm. His internal energy hardens his muscles and his palm strength can shatter Feng Qi's forearm, but the art does not protect the rest of his body like Iron Cloth Shirt. Surprise attacks, blood loss, choking, and Du Ge's regeneration therefore counter his superior conventional cultivation. (Chapters 8 and 29–30)

Relationships

  • Du Ge: Qiu tries to recruit Feng Qi, but Du Ge uses the meeting to depose him and absorb the Iron Palm Gang.
  • Han Zuo: Han's life debt makes him one of Qiu's most loyal rescuers.
  • Qiu Muqian: His daughter organizes resistance while judging that Feng Qi needs Qiu alive until the takeover is complete.
