Sun Bao

Sun Bao is a professional forger who becomes one of Golden Crow Camp's two masters beside Ji Wei. He is especially visible as the camp's spokesman and as the originator of the Golden Crystal ship proposal, but the camp's major inventions remain collective work rather than his private creations.

Biography

Building Golden Crow Camp

Sun Bao and Ji Wei make their living by forging before Little Mountain Jie's collapse, and both possess more practical forging skill than Zuo Mo when he finds them. Zuo Mo teaches them the formations of the Black Processing Meditation mat, after which they lead recruited artisans, demonstrate the mats, and keep blue-gold brick production moving during Golden Crow City's construction. Sun Bao admires Zuo Mo's formation and fire-forging ability but also recognizes that Boss is preparing to confront a jindan; he and Ji Wei choose to accompany him rather than remain behind. (Chapters 240–281)

After the evacuation, Sun Bao helps turn the workshop into a disciplined knowledge organization. He summons the camp to receive Zuo Mo's collected methods, and he and Ji Wei require a killing-heart oath before anyone studies the rare material, declaring Golden Crow Camp loyal to Daren. Their people then create the Crimson Fiend Cauldron from scarce stock. Sun Bao is proud of the result but candid about its constraint: forging more is possible only if suitable materials can be found. (Chapters 307–360)

From shipbuilding to shen production

Sun Bao's boldest individual proposal comes in the Golden Crystal sand desert, where he argues that the group should use the abundant material to forge an entire transport ship. He and Ji Wei design the plan, establish defensive formations before beginning, direct the communal forge, conceal the finished hull's valuable material, and explain its space, farming, defense, and speed systems. The ship demonstrates his combination of ambition and production caution: he is willing to attempt an unprecedented scale, but only after protecting the workforce and working within available materials. (Chapters 421–425)

On Turtle Island and in Mo Cloud Sea, Sun Bao helps lead formation study, farming-system design, public forging instruction, mo-matrix research, matrix awakening, jinzhi development, and mass shen-equipment production. When Zuo Mo is endangered, Sun Bao suspends other work and drives the exhausted camp to understand the supplied mo matrices. Years later he calculates costs and production ceilings for tens of thousands of shen-equipment sets, showing that his mature role joins technical judgment with logistics and pricing. He remains active in Chapter 761, when he and Ji Wei avoid being repeatedly pulled away to operate Chun Yu Cheng's dan cauldron. (Chapters 447–598, 718–761)

Appearance and personality

The source does not provide a stable description of Sun Bao's face, build, hair, or usual clothing. It depicts him through workshop behavior instead: wiping sweat, speaking with a booming voice, becoming too emotional to speak over a successful cauldron, and sleeping in a corner while drooling after an emergency research effort. A more precise portrait would be speculative. (Chapters 280, 331–337, 558)

Sun Bao is practical, loyal, excitable about difficult projects, and direct about costs. He can propose consuming an enormous resource deposit for one ship, yet he first asks for defenses and later gives exact limits on material supply, time, and workforce. His blunt commercial enthusiasm in the shen-equipment order coexists with a preference for research over repetitive production. (Chapters 421–425, 454–455, 755)

Abilities and cultivation

Forging and production leadership

Sun Bao can teach basic workers, coordinate specialized forgers, and turn experimental designs into group production. His projects depend on Golden Crow Camp's divided labor, Zuo Mo's techniques, Bao Yi's stored materials, and protected work sites. The repeated shortages of blue-gold brick, rare cauldron materials, and production time establish clear limits: Sun Bao is a master organizer, not a source of unlimited output. (Chapters 240–280, 331–337, 421–425, 755)

Formation and matrix research

With Ji Wei, Sun Bao leads collaborative analysis of ling formations, mo matrices, matrix awakening, jinzhi, and shen equipment. He asks Zuo Mo to present his understanding before the camp decomposes the Meridional Azure Aether Formation, helps explain transformed farming fields, and applies received awakening methods to mo such as E De. The source does not state Sun Bao's personal cultivation realm or present him as a frontline fighter; his demonstrated strength lies in research, instruction, and production. (Chapters 398, 448–467, 556–565, 718–755)

Relationships

Ji Wei

Ji Wei is Sun Bao's co-master and closest professional partner. They teach, plan, demand materials, and lead Golden Crow Camp together. Sun Bao sometimes voices an idea first, but the Crimson Fiend Cauldron, Golden Crystal ship, and shen-production program are consistently described as group achievements. (Chapters 240–425, 719–761)

Zuo Mo

Zuo Mo gives Sun Bao access to unusual formations, resources, and broad permission to experiment. Sun Bao responds with loyalty and scalable craft: he protects Daren's knowledge, races to solve dangers that Zuo Mo encounters, and converts one-off discoveries into equipment for an entire faction. (Chapters 240, 281, 331–337, 556–598, 755)

Bao Yi and Golden Crow Camp

Bao Yi is the quartermaster whose conservation duties repeatedly collide with Sun Bao's appetite for materials. Sun Bao and Ji Wei personally press him for the rare stock needed by the Crimson Fiend Cauldron, while later production estimates show why such control is necessary. Inside Golden Crow Camp, Sun Bao is both a master and a spokesman who can rally the whole organization around urgent work. (Chapters 278, 331–337, 556–598, 755)

Items

ItemConnection and disposition
Black Processing Meditation matSun Bao learns its formations from Zuo Mo and demonstrates its use to recruited forgers. The mats are distributed production tools, not his private possessions. (Chapters 240–249)
Crimson Fiend CauldronGolden Crow Camp collectively creates the cauldron under Sun Bao and Ji Wei. It consumes rare materials and is later refined through continued ling-power forging; it belongs to the camp's production system. (Chapters 332–360)
Golden Crystal shipSun Bao proposes an all-Golden-Crystal transport ship and co-directs its design and forge. The completed ship carries the whole group and is communal infrastructure rather than his personal vehicle. (Chapters 421–425)
Shen-equipment production plansSun Bao calculates unit cost, sale price, time, and workforce for a large order. These plans govern Mo Cloud Sea production; the finished sets are merchandise and military equipment, not items he personally wields. (Chapter 755)
