Qi Diao Yu

Qi Diao Yu is a mysterious independent mo expert whose earlier record at the Great Peace Mo Skill Steles defines the standard that Xiao Mo Ge surpasses. He returns seeking the missing knowledge of shen power, first treating Zuo Mo and his companions as possible sources and later joining the coalition that fights Kun Lun.

Biography

Great Peace prodigy

Qi Diao Yu reaches the peak of general level at twenty-three and comes to Great Peace City to seek a breakthrough. During a year of challenges, he defeats numerous prominent fighters; Pang Chen becomes famous merely for lasting thirty moves against him. Qi Diao Yu then disappears for roughly three years. His return announces itself through an enchanting sound that affects an entire street, and he proceeds into the deepest portion of the Mo Skill Stele forest to study rather than immediately seeking public combat. (Chapters 573–581)

Zuo Mo breaks Qi Diao Yu's old stele record and causes the Shifting Star Sands, drawing Qi Diao Yu's attention. Qi Diao Yu recognizes signs of shen power in Ceng Lian'er, A Gui, and Zuo Mo, and briefly clashes with Ceng Lian'er while explaining that Shi Zi Ming's steles omit the crucial part of that inheritance. His search has produced no complete answer: despite his talent, he remains outside shen power's entryway and cannot force Ceng Lian'er to surrender what he wants. (Chapters 581–597)

Bargain and Great Peace battle

Qi Diao Yu approaches Zuo Mo with a direct bargain: protection and information in exchange for a copy of the hidden stele inside the treasure pavilion. Zuo Mo rejects the first offer because his own group is strong enough to make protection less valuable. Qi Diao Yu nevertheless joins Princess Xia's assembled experts, challenges Nanmen Xue while Zuo Mo escapes another threat, and fights Kun Lun's disciples during the struggle for the Anti Dragon Claw. His participation is useful but does not place him on Lin Qian's level. (Chapters 611–624)

Qi Diao Yu later kills enemies with his water droplets and stands among Great Peace City's surviving elite. When Marshal Yu releases the Rain Domain of No Return, Qi Diao Yu recognizes the danger through his own expertise in illusory sound, but his counter-sound is absorbed. His consciousness slows, his body grows heavy, and he is last shown succumbing to the domain's intoxicating effect. The scene does not confirm his death, and later chapters do not resolve his fate. (Chapters 631–648)

Appearance and personality

Qi Diao Yu is a male of extraordinary beauty who wears snowy-white robes. He initially appears proud, remote, and sword-straight; while concentrating before the steles, that indifference gives way to the gentleness of an ordinary young mo. His orbiting water droplets and moving robes contribute to his striking presence, but the source gives no stable description of his hair, height, or build. (Chapters 578–583, 592, 617)

He is terse, focused, proud, and practical enough to bargain when acting alone is insufficient. Shen power evokes visible yearning beneath his usual indifference. He is also capable of revising tactics: after failing to pressure Ceng Lian'er and having his initial offer rejected, he cooperates with other Great Peace experts rather than attempting to seize the hidden knowledge alone. (Chapters 592–624)

Abilities and cultivation

Peak general-level power

Qi Diao Yu is already at peak general level at twenty-three and is treated as comparable to Great Peace City's strongest ranked experts, who stand just below marshal rank. His fame comes from decisive challenge victories and from defeating Pang Chen without using all his power. He never reaches a documented marshal realm, and the Rain Domain of No Return later demonstrates the decisive gap between his level and Marshal Yu's. (Chapters 573–584, 648)

Illusory sound and water droplets

Qi Diao Yu's specialty is illusory sound. The faint sound leaking from his orbiting droplets can enchant a street, pressure consciousness, and accompany killing intent; he can also send a droplet through an enemy's chest. The method is vulnerable to superior counters: Nanmen Xue breaks the citywide sound with a cold snort, Ceng Lian'er escapes their brief clash, and Marshal Yu's rain absorbs Qi Diao Yu's sharp counter-howl. (Chapters 578, 592, 601, 631, 648)

Perception

Qi Diao Yu detects that Ceng Lian'er uses shen power and understands that Shi Zi Ming's public steles lack their most important piece. This perception guides his return and bargains, but recognition is not mastery. The source explicitly presents him as unable to cross the threshold into shen power on his own. (Chapters 592–608)

Relationships

Zuo Mo

Zuo Mo, known to Qi Diao Yu as Xiao Mo Ge, first interests him by breaking his stele record and displaying shen power. Their relationship remains transactional: Qi Diao Yu offers aid for a copy of the hidden stele, Zuo Mo refuses the initial terms, and they later fight on the same side against Kun Lun without a stated personal allegiance. (Chapters 581–624)

Ceng Lian'er

Ceng Lian'er recognizes Qi Diao Yu's desire for shen power and briefly contests him. Qi Diao Yu later assesses them as evenly matched, while Ceng Lian'er remains wary because he can detect her concealed power. Neither defeats or recruits the other. (Chapters 592–617)

Great Peace experts

Qi Diao Yu's older victories make him a measuring standard for Great Peace fighters such as Pang Chen. His later challenge to Nanmen Xue creates a diversion that Zuo Mo uses, and he then joins Chang Yuan Hao, Yu Shuang, and other experts in the anti-Kun Lun force. This is a temporary coalition, not a stated permanent faction. (Chapters 573–584, 611–633)

Items

ItemConnection and disposition
Orbiting water dropletsThree droplets circle Qi Diao Yu, generate his enchanting sound, and can be accelerated as piercing attacks. Their origin, grade, and final disposition are not stated. They are not identified with Zuo Mo's separately named Water Drop sword. (Chapters 578, 592, 631, 648)
