Lei Peng

Lei Peng is a brawny, hot-tempered frontline fighter trained under Gongsun Cha. He begins as the most rebellious of the Little Mountain recruits, develops sabre essence and formation-engraved cultivation, and later becomes the “axe” concealed inside Ma Fan's defensive Black Turtle Camp.

Biography

The rebel made into a camp fighter

Lei Peng first appears already subdued by Gongsun Cha's severe discipline, though his fiery temper returns whenever an opponent boasts. He fights in a practiced three-person team with Nian Lu and Zong Ru, using Abyss Ghost Sabre Scripture while the others supply sword and fist attacks. Rewards change his cynical view of leadership: after expecting exploitation, he receives Nine Dawn ling armor for achievement and voluntarily trades his possessions to Zuo Mo for formations engraved on his body. The choice improves his cultivation at some risk and helps turn obedience imposed by jinzhi into investment in the faction that equips him. (Chapters 211–233)

Repeated campaigns make Lei Peng more than raw aggression. He comprehends sabre essence in the sword formation, protects Zuo Mo as part of his team's first duty, leads troops, and learns to operate inside Gongsun Cha's coordinated formations. His blunt impatience remains, but he recognizes that their lives and opportunities are better under the new command. The progression is social as well as martial: equipment, rewards, formation training, and reliable comrades let a roaming fighter acquire a durable place in an army. (Chapters 231–330)

The axe inside Black Turtle's shell

When Ma Fan builds Black Turtle Camp from Sky Peak veterans and mixed local cultivators, Lei Peng becomes its sharpest offensive edge. Against Xuan Kong Temple, Ma Fan uses his charge to force the enemy into the close attritional battle the inexperienced camp can survive. Lei Peng's door-sized golden crystal sword breaks talismans and opens space; when the counterattack lands, he falls back into Ma Fan's Arcing Rainbow defensive formation. The combination matters because Lei Peng alone can create momentum, but only the camp's defensive structure lets that momentum endure. (Chapters 576–580)

Years of transformation make his strength a deliberate system. Zuo Mo replaces his spell with a mo skill, uses a mo embryo to form a power-type mo physique, and later has him cultivate the Mo Cloud Shen Methodology. Tailored shen equipment multiplies that specialized output fivefold. In battle Lei Peng leads two hundred armored elites from inside a defensive line, charges like a furious rhinoceros, and meets a mo marshal head-on. The marshal's superior cultivation shatters Lei Peng's sword and armor, but choosing a contest of pure strength gives Lei Peng the narrow opening his entire path is built to exploit; he rises bleeding, changes equipment, and continues with an axe. Appearance and personality

Lei Peng is a large, brawny man with copper-bell eyes, fan-sized hands, a loud voice, and an intimidating bandit-like presence. Later he wears full Mo Cloud shen equipment over his massive frame and resembles a giant from legend. His physical scale is functional: the corpus repeatedly associates it with heavy two-handed weapons, powerful charges, and the ability to stand at the head of an assault. (Chapters 217–219, 772)

He is fiery, boastful, combative, and often crude, but not thoughtless. He carefully asks whether engraved formations will damage cultivation, extracts their effects from Zong Ru, and obeys camp tactics even while complaining. Gongsun Cha's presence makes him meticulously groomed and disciplined; among friends, he returns to taunts, loud confidence, and a hunger to be sent into the next fight. Abilities and cultivation

Abyss Ghost Sabre and sabre essence

Lei Peng initially cultivates Abyss Ghost Sabre Scripture through a black sabre and coordinates it with Nian Lu and Zong Ru. His attack is forceful enough to pressure comparable teams, but it can be shattered by a much stronger opponent and is most effective when teammates create openings. Training in the sword formation later produces sabre essence rather than sword essence, showing that the formation sharpens his own path rather than converting him into a sword xiu. Engraved formations and power-type body

Zuo Mo engraves three formations on Lei Peng's body after warning that failure may leave scars. The formations accelerate and strengthen cultivation, while Lei Peng accepts the physical risk because he values usable power over appearance. Zuo Mo later replaces his original spell with a mo skill, applies a mo embryo, and guides the resulting physique entirely toward strength. Each stage compounds the same attribute rather than broadening his technique, which makes him exceptionally dangerous in direct collision but dependent on comrades and formations for mobility, defense, and tactical positioning. Mo Cloud Shen Methodology and shen equipment

Mo Cloud Shen Methodology raises Lei Peng's already multiplied strength into simple, direct shen power. His custom shen equipment enhances power fivefold, and his frontline formation uses that burst to break an enemy defense from within. The specialization has visible limits: a marshal's spear shatters his golden crystal sword, cracks the equipment, and wounds him across the body. Lei Peng carries replacement armor and an axe, so resilience comes from preparation and refusal to stop, not immunity to higher cultivation. (Chapter 772)

Ma Fan and Nian Lu

Ma Fan, Lei Peng, and Nian Lu form a complementary veteran trio. Ma Fan supplies command and micro-tactics, Nian Lu calculation, and Lei Peng the direct force that leads troops from the front. In Black Turtle Camp, Ma Fan explicitly treats Lei Peng as the axe hidden within a turtle shell: the defensive formation protects the charge until the right moment, while Lei Peng gives a defensive camp a decisive offensive threat. Gongsun Cha and Zuo Mo

Gongsun Cha breaks Lei Peng's rebellious habits and then continues grooming him as a troop leader. Zuo Mo earns a different loyalty by supplying fair rewards, formations, cultivation changes, and equipment. Lei Peng fears Gongsun Cha's discipline more openly, but he entrusts Zuo Mo with altering his body and repeatedly treats protecting Boss as his duty. (Chapters 211–233, 729, 752)

Zong Ru

Zong Ru is Lei Peng's original teammate and an early measure of his progress. Zong Ru's rapid improvement motivates Lei Peng to seek engraved formations, and Lei Peng and Nian Lu sit beside him when he is injured. Zong Ru's later independent path separates him from the old team, but the early cooperation establishes Lei Peng's capacity for concern beneath his rough manner. (Chapters 217–237)
