Demon Leviathan Blade

The Demon Leviathan Blade is a unique sword forged from the serrated horn of the only Demon Leviathan known to have been killed. Although imperial artificers called the result defective because they could capture only part of the Godbeast's power, the surviving weapon combines exceptional sharpness with unnatural weight.

History

An incomplete imperial weapon

A Hero killed a Demon Leviathan while it was giving birth, but died when its newborn retaliated. The sacrifice allowed Emperor Fenoras to obtain part of the mother's body and commission a weapon from it. Imperial mages could not reproduce the full complexity of the Godbeast through formations, so their blade retained only two traits: the cutting quality of its serrated horns and the World-blessed control of weight that let the immense sea creature support and weaponize its own mass. The failure to preserve its other abilities is why the otherwise formidable sword is described as defective. (Chapter 746)

The blade was believed lost after the Empire's final battle, but it survived in Angaria's secret treasury. Protector Raven had removed it because he liked its appearance and feel, not because he intended to use it in combat, and gave it to Daneel Anivron when asked. Daneel later shows it to Faxul, who finds that it weighs at least five hundred kilograms. The chapter confirms Daneel's custody and Faxul's brief handling, but not a permanent transfer to Faxul or another sovereign. (Chapter 746)

Abilities and properties

• Its edge reproduces the sharpness of the Demon Leviathan's serrated horns, which the species used to spear prey. The source establishes exceptional material sharpness but gives no quantified cutting limit. (Chapter 746)
• Its weight property derives from the Leviathan's ability to consciously alter its own weight.
