Scarlett
Scarlett is an adopted Big Four seed and member of the group investigated after Letitia's apparent murder. Her fierce attachments to both Letitia and Jessica make her an emotional target of the consciousness schemes surrounding the case.
Biography
Loyalty inside the seed conspiracy
Scarlett is adopted into the Big Four as a child after hidden testing identifies exceptional potential. From the age of eight she is raised through special materials, carefully selected training, and Hero supervision, leaving the other seeds as most of her social world. She becomes deeply interested in Jessica and later intensely attached to Letitia, with jealousy strong enough that she says she would do anything to win Letitia's attention. Her hatred of the Central Continent helps push the group toward an earlier plan against Daneel, yet during the murder case her defining choices are protective: she comforts Jessica, rushes to her after the revelations, and stands between her and an apparent assassin. She survives to discover that Letitia planned to exploit their bonds and Jessica covertly redirected that plan. (Chapters 734–743)
Appearance and personality
Scarlett is a young woman, but the supplied arc gives no detailed description of her build, hair, or features. She has a short temper and expresses affection physically, holding Jessica's shoulders and immediately moving to comfort or shield her. Her hatred and jealousy are strong, yet so are courage and loyalty; the danger is that she commits to people before examining how those bonds may be manipulated. (Chapters 735–743)
Abilities and power
Scarlett is a Big Four seed whose body and potential have been cultivated since childhood with special materials even outside active training. Heroes monitor her development and choose methods intended to raise power while limiting long-term drawbacks. She is combat-ready enough to confront an apparent assassin beside Matthew and Memphis, but the case does not state her exact realm, primary discipline, or a named technique. The training program establishes high projected potential, not a specific demonstrated victory. (Chapters 736–743)
Relationships
- Jessica: Scarlett is deeply interested in Jessica before Letitia arrives and repeatedly comforts and protects her. Jessica's hidden manipulation exploits the group's conviction that she is its innocent center. (Chapters 735–743)
- Letitia: Scarlett quickly becomes attached and jealous after Letitia joins the group. Letitia intends to turn devotion of this kind into material for consciousness theft. (Chapters 736–743)
- Matthew, Dave, and Memphis: Scarlett trains and socializes with the other seeds, sharing their distrust of the Central Continent. During the final trap she joins Matthew and Memphis in shielding Jessica. (Chapters 736–743)
Items
No individually named item is firmly assigned to Scarlett. Her seed development uses unnamed special materials supplied by the Big Four, but the corpus does not identify a personal named weapon, trinket, or artefact. (Chapters 736–743)
