Bevis

Bevis is the Black Raven Kingdom's envoy to Daneel Anivron's coronation. Beneath the formal gift and diplomatic request, he evaluates Lanthanor for Tenebrol and helps draw Daneel into the Black Raven King's plan concerning the Echer seeds. (Chapters 101–241)

Biography

A hostile envoy advances Tenebrol's plan

Bevis arrives in a raven-emblazoned coat, trades insults with the other foreign envoys, and reacts angrily when Daneel delays their audience. He formally presents an Eminent Human guardian raven and a communication device, then submits his kingdom's request. His sneering demeanor makes the visit openly unfriendly, but the diplomacy still establishes a channel that Tenebrol can use. Bevis reports Daneel's unusual analytical resources, information that encourages the Black Raven King to seek his help with the dangerous Echer seeds. (Chapters 101–133)

Bevis is also part of Faxul's history: he was among those who chased the displaced prince from the Black Raven Kingdom. His presence therefore nearly provokes Faxul during the coronation period and later shapes the prince's reluctance to attend negotiations. The guardian raven Bevis leaves behind eventually passes to Faxul, connecting an instrument of Tenebrol's diplomacy to the surviving royal line. Bevis himself remains alive at his latest confirmed character scene; later references concern the gift and do not add a new personal appearance. (Chapters 110, 126–133, and 241)

Appearance and personality

Bevis wears a coat marked with a raven emblem. The supplied chapters emphasize his deep voice, sneer, easy hostility, and willingness to crush a royal message in anger rather than detailed facial features. He is observant enough to warn Tenebrol that Daneel is more mature than his age suggests, but his diplomacy remains colored by arrogance and loyalty to his own king. (Chapters 101–104 and 128)

Abilities and power

The chapters do not state Bevis's formal realm or show a signature combat technique. His demonstrated skills are diplomatic representation, observation, report-writing, and operation of Black Raven communication and guardian-beast trinkets. The Eminent Human raven he presents is a separate beast rather than evidence of Bevis's own level. (Chapters 101–133)
