Heaven Shrouding Sword

The Heaven Shrouding Sword is the famous blade of Mount Li's sect master and one of the top weapons on the Tier of Legendary Weapons. After centuries in the Garden of Zhou, it becomes the core of the Yellow Paper Umbrella before returning to Mount Li's line. (Chapters 326–371, 532–553, and 1141–1182)

History

The sword that escaped the Garden

Su Li finds the forgotten sword beside a forest stream during an earlier entry into the Garden of Zhou, making it the first and then-only sword known to leave that world. He and the Tang Old Master build the Yellow Paper Umbrella around it, using the sword as the artifact's pivot and its hilt as the umbrella handle. This arrangement lets the umbrella conceal its divine blade and channel Heaven Shrouding sword intent. When the Garden begins collapsing, Su Li draws the sword and cuts a path hundreds of li across the demon snowfields, carrying the injured Chen Changsheng to temporary safety. (Chapters 326–371)

Return to the Mount Li succession

Chen later returns the Yellow Paper Umbrella, but by then the Heaven Shrouding Sword is no longer inside it. The precise scene of separation and transfer is not shown. The sword subsequently returns to the custody of Mount Li's sect-master line, consistent with its original institutional identity. During the northern war, the current sect master uses it to shatter demon artifacts and wound the Eighth Demon General, and offers to send it against the Demon Commander. Its final appearances confirm the blade remains active even though it is not itself a living being. (Chapters 532–553, 782, 904–926, and 1141–1182)

Abilities and properties

• The sword carries proud, exceptionally powerful intent capable of raising many old swords' coordinated attacks to the level of elite Mount Li disciples. (Chapters 333–336)
• As the Yellow Paper Umbrella's pivot, it supports concealment strong enough to deceive Meditation cultivators and channels defensive or cutting sword intent through the umbrella body. The umbrella still cannot literally hold up a collapsing miniature sky in Chen's hands. (Chapters 347 and 361–371)
• Su Li uses the blade to cut a path hundreds of li through snowy terrain, and its strike pierces Black Robe's iron plate. These effects depend on a supreme wielder as well as the weapon. (Chapters 350–351, 518–563, and 782)
• It is one of the rare physical weapons that remains useful to Divine Domain experts, unlike ordinary blades that are inferior to weapons formed from sacred true essence or starlight. (Chapter 904)
