Yeshi

Yeshi, identified as Yeshi Tanlu, is the demon infiltrator sent to assassinate Luoluo and expose clues leading toward the Garden of Zhou. His brief mission has a lasting consequence because Chen Changsheng memorizes his secret movement technique. (Chapters 30–32 and 248)

Biography

The Garden of Zhou

Although Yeshi himself is already a captive, his technique shapes the struggle inside the Garden of Zhou. Chen reconstructs a simplified Yeshi Step from the movements he memorized during the assassination attempt and uses it to evade Liang Xiaoxiao, cross dangerous ground, and return to Xu Yourong at the mausoleum gate. Nanke's perfect version exposes the imitation's limits, but the copied footwork still repeatedly saves Chen. Thus Black Robe's attempt to use Yeshi as bait has an unintended consequence: the assassin gives a future opponent one of his most important close-range movement tools. (Chapters 248, 258–273, 318–342)

Appearance and personality

The evidence identifies him primarily as a demon man of the Yeshi tribe rather than supplying detailed features. Once captured and prevented from killing himself, he falls into profound despair because the humans intend to trace Black Robe through him. (Chapter 31)

Abilities and cultivation

The complete Yeshi Step permits free movement within a fixed range and uses the heavenly patterns of wind and snow to conceal tracks. Chen's memorized imitation is extremely fast in close-range evasion but incomplete; Nanke can identify its errors and outperform it with the perfect form. (Chapters 30, 273, and 320–321)

Relationships

  • Black Robe: Black Robe sends Yeshi to attack Luoluo as part of a larger plan to expose the Garden while controlling how humans discover it. (Chapter 248)
  • Luoluo: Luoluo is the target of Yeshi's capital assassination attempt. The failure leads to his capture and interrogation. (Chapters 30–32)
  • Chen Changsheng: Chen memorizes Yeshi's movements and reconstructs them as a simplified technique, turning the assassin's skill into a recurring defense. (Chapters 30–32 and 258–342)

Items

  • Heavenly Fog Net: Black Robe lends this concealment treasure to support Yeshi's mission. It belongs to the demon plan rather than to Yeshi personally. (Chapter 248)
