Biography

From envoy to rebel

Xiao Songgong comes to the capital as a leading southern envoy and formally advances the proposed marriage between Qiushan Jun and Xu Yourong. When Luoluo and the Orthodox Academy disrupt that plan, his ancient hatred of demi-humans drives him to threaten the younger participants and clash with Jin Yulu, worsening a diplomatic embarrassment into open hostility. Years later, while Mount Li is weakened by the Garden of Zhou crisis, he conspires against the sect master, traps opposing elders in the sword array, and uses Qi Jian's parentage to inflame factional suspicion. Qiushan Jun's return ends the revolt; Xiao Songgong is imprisoned and, on Su Li's order, loses both arms, though an earlier sect master had secured his life through the White Emperor. Xiao Songgong is described as only one step from the sacred threshold and belongs to the elite generation that rose centuries earlier.
