Bie Tianxin
Bie Tianxin is the only son of Bie Yanghong and Wuqiong Bi, powerful enough to rival the best academy graduates but accustomed to parental protection. His later murder is engineered to turn his parents against Chen Changsheng and destabilize the Orthodoxy. (Chapters 469–539 and 810–988)
Biography
Pride, warning, and murder
Encouraged by ties between his parents and conservative Orthodox leaders, Bie Tianxin challenges the revived Orthodox Academy and accuses its enrollment effort of ulterior motives. His middle Star Condensation strength makes the threat credible, but Su Moyu's punishment of a Bie servant conveys his father's warning, and Bie withdraws rather than escalate. Years later he travels with Mu Jiushi and responds to her with conspicuous tenderness, unaware that the Great Western Continent's Imperial Uncle Mu and Mu Jiushi will use him as a political sacrifice. They kill him with an imitation of Black Frost Dragon breath so that his parents' soul brand implicates Zhizhi and, through her, Chen; his death thereby turns family love into a weapon against the Pope. (Chapters 469–488, 539, 810–811, 868–894, and 906–988)
Appearance and personality
Bie Tianxin dresses as a scholar in imitation of his father. He is arrogant, unrestrained, and accustomed to privilege, but his gentleness toward Mu Jiushi shows that this public spoiled-princeling manner is not his only register. (Chapters 475–488, 810–811, and 868–869)
Abilities and cultivation
He reaches middle Star Condensation through a secret and exceptionally powerful family method. The method temporarily holds him at his current stage, and observers treat his combat strength as comparable to Guan Bai despite his earlier loss to that swordsman. No signature technique is demonstrated in the supplied excerpts. (Chapters 469 and 481)
Relationships
- Bie Yanghong and Wuqiong Bi: His parents protect him with a soul brand and later pursue revenge, exactly as his killers intended. (Chapters 539, 883–894, and 906–988)
- Su Moyu: Su Moyu disciplines Bie Tianxin's servant, delivering a warning that helps halt the academy challenge. (Chapters 481–488)
- Mu Jiushi: Bie Tianxin trusts and cares for Mu Jiushi, who later participates in the scheme that kills him. (Chapters 810–811, 868–869, and 935–988)
Items
- Parental soul brand: Bie Yanghong and Wuqiong Bi place a Qi brand in their son's sea of consciousness so they can identify what kills him. It is a cultivation mark rather than a portable artifact, and the conspirators exploit it by reproducing dragon breath. (Chapters 883–894)
