Mask of the Dreamless

The Mask of the Dreamless is a half-face mask invented by Leylin to protect his truesoul from Dreamscape and conceal his bloodline. He later remodels it specifically to help him evade the Snake Dowager in Purgatory World.

History

Defence against Dreamscape

Leylin forges the original mask from alloy and a one-eyed snake’s fang after developing a procedure against dreamforce intrusion. The mask prevents remote Dreamscape surveillance and protects his truesoul from being dragged into hostile dreams, giving him a safeguard while dreamforce is unstable. (Chapter 667)

Bloodline remodelling

Persistent pressure from Dreamscape and Leylin’s changing soul force require an upgrade. He adds Alabaster Devilsnake blood, producing red-and-gold markings and the ability to emit a false bloodline aura. The improvement conceals information about him as well as protecting his soul. (Chapters 693–694)

Concealment in Purgatory World

Leylin uses the mask with an altered aura, a decoy puppet, and chaos power to hide from the Snake Dowager’s searches. Its stored Alabaster Devilsnake bloodline can be consumed and replenished, and it helps him pass as a native serpent-blooded being. The mask remains part of his layered security through its last recorded use. (Chapters 698–708, 715–717, and 737)

Abilities and properties

• Blocks Dreamscape surveillance and protects the wearer’s truesoul from dreamforce invasion. (Chapters 667 and 693)
• Emits Alabaster Devilsnake bloodline and soul-force fluctuations to conceal the wearer’s true identity. (Chapters 693, 698, and 715)
• Its disguise reserve can be depleted through use and replenished with compatible bloodline material. (Chapters 717 and 737)
• Does not make Leylin unconditionally undetectable; he still fears direct contact with the Snake Dowager. (Chapter 706)
