Biography

Guardian of the Argus Family

Siegfried is a distant ancestor and official-Magus guardian of the Argus Family, distinct from the later Ashen Hawks mercenary of the same name. During the struggle between family branches he initially supports Lucas, but his concern is continuity rather than affection for one descendant. When Leylin Farlier demonstrates enough power to alter the balance, Siegfried offers to settle succession in Jenny's favor if Leylin will openly assume responsibility for that branch. Leylin refuses the obligation, leaving Siegfried to manage the lineage by the same utilitarian standard with which he approached the dispute. (Chapters 308 and 313–315)

Scholar of Gaia's Might

Siegfried receives Leylin in a five-storey Magus Tower and becomes animated once politics gives way to research. A spell experiment permanently cost him his right hand; instead of accepting transplanted flesh, he commissioned an Earth Elf to build a modular mechanical prosthesis fitted with laboratory tools. He shows Leylin the earth-energy pond accumulated over centuries and trades technical experience concerning Gaia's Might. Their scholarly exchange later makes him a useful source on Celine, Nature's Alliance, and the local Magus network. (Chapters 314–319, 336, and 405)

Appearance and personality

Siegfried dresses like an ordinary farmer despite his status and has a conspicuous mechanical right arm. He is detached from ordinary family sentiment, confident in his research, and much more animated by useful scholarly exchange than by ceremony.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Gaia's Might cultivation

Siegfried cultivates the earth-aligned high-grade meditation technique Gaia's Might. Its users attract earth particles and gather Gaia's aura, producing an elemental foundation stronger and more specialized than advancement through ordinary resources. The surviving inheritance has only three levels and therefore provides a path no further than rank 3. Siegfried is described as a semi-converted elemental Magus, so the narrative supports earth affinity and structured advancement without naming a signature combat spell. (Chapters 314, 317, and 322)

Research and mechanical prosthesis

His permanent injury comes from a failed spell experiment, demonstrating both the risks of his research and a hard bodily limit. The replacement right hand can split its fingers into tweezers, scissors, pliers, and other tools useful in a laboratory. It is custom engineering by Grandmaster Oak, not a regenerated limb or innate transformation, and no offensive function is shown. (Chapter 314)

Tower and cultivation infrastructure

The five-storey Magus Tower contains refined-metal guards, formations, laboratories, a garden, and an earth-element energy-particle pond. The pond concentrates the particles needed for Gaia's Might and can help overcome cultivation difficulty, but it took centuries of saved resources to build. These defences and supplies magnify Siegfried's position at home; they should not be used to infer that his unaided body has the tower's full defensive strength. (Chapters 314–317 and 405)
