Biography

The idealistic knight

Rafiniya begins as a young traveling knight whose sense of justice is stronger than her knowledge of the world. She attacks Leylin, then using the name Ley, after misreading a public scene as abuse. Once local law and religion reveal that she interrupted a ritual, she apologizes despite her humiliation. The incident establishes both sides of her character: she acts immediately for a victim, but treats justice as a clear rule that should produce one correct answer. (Chapter 857)

Mounted knight training

At introduction she is a Rank 10 knight trained in swordsmanship, full plate, and mounted combat. The A.I. Chip measures an approximately eleven-to-nineteen-percent increase in her abilities while mounted, reflecting the leverage, mobility, and charging force gained from her warhorse. Armor increases physical defense but lowers resistance to magic by a comparable tradeoff. Leylin plants a dark-red influence in Rafiniya's soul long before the final conversion. It conceals the extent of her changing alignment and grows through anger, distrust, and contradiction. The Root of Evil does not instantly rewrite an untroubled paladin; it exploits a crisis created when church policy violates the absolute justice she believes she serves. This power is externally engineered and should not be counted as an ability Rafiniya voluntarily masters. As Phoenix, Rafiniya has an erinyes body with wings, infernal flight, hellfire, and power equivalent to a greater devil.
