Biography

Scout captain and hidden spy

Lanshire serves as the thief and scout captain in Aulen's Silverymoon expedition. The position gives her access to patrol routines, camp defences, and the trust of a commander who has known her for more than fifty years. She secretly conspires with the werecreatures, exposing the expedition's location and timing so their force can attack the camp. The full organisation behind her and the event that first drove her toward revenge are not identified. (Chapters 892–894)

Under cover of fog and darkness, Lanshire passes the sentries with her familiar voice and enters Leylin Farlier's tent on the pretext of discussing the mission. She lowers her voice to draw him close, produces a silver dagger without warning, and slashes his throat. The target bursts like a bubble because Leylin anticipated a spy and left a high-grade illusion in his place. Lanshire recognises the trap and attempts to flee, but the real Leylin, Rafiniya, and Aulen are already waiting outside. (Chapter 893)

Exposure and death

Aulen confronts Lanshire over sacrificing their friendship for power. Lanshire removes her mask and points to the unhealed scar on her cheek, saying that she has never been the same since “that night,” but refuses to disclose enough to establish the perpetrators or exact grievance. She rejects Leylin's demand for surrender and chooses an open fight even though assassination, not a frontal clash, is her strength. (Chapter 893)

Leylin casts Slow while Rafiniya helps bring Lanshire down. Two large swords pierce her abdomen, and she refuses Jinx's treatment. She then reveals that the werecreature attack is already underway and dies after cursing the expedition. Her betrayal contributes to heavy casualties and destroys Aulen's confidence, but it does not prevent the surviving force from organising a defence. (Chapters 893–894)

Appearance and personality

Lanshire is a slender woman in tight-fitting clothing whose mask covers half her face. Beneath it is a youthful face marked by a scar on the left cheek. Destructive power remains in the wound and prevents divine healing, making it both a physical injury and the visible focus of her grievance. She is calm enough to maintain a long infiltration and approach her target conversationally, but exposure brings out bitterness, hatred, and a willingness to die rather than accept treatment or surrender. Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Scouting and infiltration

As scout captain, Lanshire can move through a guarded camp, exploit low visibility, and use familiarity to pass sentries without raising an alarm. Her betrayal also shows access to enough operational information to guide a werecreature force toward the expedition. No spell or supernatural concealment is named in these scenes; fog, darkness, role, and trust all support the infiltration. (Chapters 892–894)

High-ranked assassination

Lanshire is explicitly a high-ranked assassin. She creates a close-range opening through misdirection, draws a concealed dagger, and lands what would have been a throat-cutting strike on an unprepared target. The attack fails because the target is an illusion, not because her aim or speed misses. (Chapter 893)

Open-combat limits

Her class is dangerous when she can act from hiding, but the narrative states that a face-to-face battle is not her strength. Once surrounded, she is slowed by Leylin and brought down with Rafiniya's help in a short exchange. The chapter does not name poison, shadow magic, or a special dagger technique, so none is attributed to her. (Chapter 893)
