Last of the Langsters

After Ivy's family is destroyed, the housekeeper Miles carries her toward the Great Canyon Margaret. Leylin encounters them as Miles dies, buries the man, and takes Ivy with him. Ivy is frightened but intelligent and obedient, addressing Leylin as her master while relying on him for protection. (Chapters 132–133)

Bloodline research and Angler Town

Leylin repeatedly draws Ivy's blood and determines that she carries an extremely diluted Pala Night Hawk bloodline. He uses that blood as an ingredient when upgrading his own Fallen Star Pendant. Because the Langsters lost the Warlock meditation technique compatible with their constitution, Ivy cannot begin acolyte cultivation through ordinary mind-rune training. She asks Leylin to keep her and avenge her family, but he refuses and delivers her to Marian in Angler Town, using his presence to ensure that the reluctant woman gives her shelter (Chapters 134–136).

Appearance and personality

Ivy is a small, dark-haired girl with pale arms. Bereavement and danger leave her timid and prone to trembling, yet she endures blood draws without resistance and shows unusual maturity, obedience, and attachment to Leylin. (Chapters 132–135)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Pala Night Hawk bloodline

Ivy inherits a trace of the ancient Pala Night Hawk bloodline through the Langster family. The inheritance is passive rather than an ability she can consciously activate: Leylin detects it only by analyzing blood taken from her. It has also thinned to the smallest detectable concentration. His analysis concludes that even repeated extraction—or all of Ivy's blood at once—would not yield a single purified drop of the ancient bloodline. He can recover only a faint aura, which he uses as a supplementary ingredient while upgrading the Fallen Star Pendant. (Chapter 134)

The bloodline therefore has value as evidence of the Langsters' Warlock ancestry, but the supplied chapters never show it granting Ivy enhanced senses, physical power, transformation, or a spell. Leylin's successful equipment experiment reflects his own research and refinement, not Ivy's mastery of her inherited trait. (Chapters 134–135)

Blocked cultivation path

Ivy has not become an acolyte. Bloodline descendants require a compatible Warlock meditation technique to cultivate their inherited constitution, while ordinary acolyte mind runes do not work for them. The Langster family once possessed an incomplete inheritance but has lost the method needed to continue it, leaving Ivy unable to begin the path despite carrying the bloodline. This is a restriction on access rather than proof that she lacks aptitude, and the corpus does not show her later obtaining a replacement technique. (Chapters 132–136)

Demonstrated limits

Ivy has no demonstrated combat or spellcasting capability. Her endurance during Leylin's repeated blood draws is personal fortitude, not supernatural resistance; the extraction leaves her pale and contributes to an illness for which Leylin supplies restorative potions. Her latest source-grounded state remains that of an uncultivated child with a nearly exhausted ancestral bloodline. (Chapters 134–136)
