Daniel

Daniel is the eldest son of Leylin Farlier and Celine, raised in the Twilight Zone and later made the progenitor of the Jörmungandr branch of the Farlier bloodline. This article does not cover the unrelated Viscount Daniel who appears in Chapters 872–878.

Biography

The World Serpent inheritance

Daniel is born to Celine while Leylin is absent from the Twilight Zone. Leylin names him and leaves Celine under concealment spells, making his early safety dependent on his mother rather than on a present father. When Leylin later sees Syre, he measures the younger child against Daniel and finally reaches across worlds to acknowledge his eldest son directly. (Chapters 670 and 766–767)

The acknowledgement is also a deliberate inheritance ceremony. Leylin pours his laws of devouring and dreamforce into Daniel, changes him at the cellular level, and declares him the World Serpent Jörmungandr. Daniel receives a mature, stabilized combat inheritance whose route is already fixed: this lets him advance faster than Syre, but Leylin explicitly judges that the predetermined future of Daniel's violent bloodline gives it less open-ended potential. The ceremony therefore makes Daniel a pillar of the Farlier family while placing a built-in ceiling before the realm of laws. (Chapter 767)

Heir in the Final War

Daniel advances ahead of Syre and, once both reach rank 6, the brothers protect the Ouroboros Clan and administer the expanding Farlier family. Their bloodlines amplify newly promoted rank 6 power enough for Leylin to compare their combat ability to the Flame Monarch, but neither has yet comprehended laws. Daniel's strength consequently secures the clan against ordinary threats without removing the bottleneck his father anticipated. (Chapters 777, 782, and 786–787)

Over the following millennium Daniel becomes a peak rank 6 Warlock, an ancestral figure with descendants of his own, and one of the family's two senior heirs. He and Syre refuse to remain behind during the Final War: although Leylin warns that rank 6 participants may die, they value the chance to observe law-level conflict and seek the breakthrough their inherited paths have not supplied automatically. Leylin accepts their choice, leaving Daniel's later advancement unresolved within the corpus. (Chapters 1045–1046 and 1194)

Appearance and personality

As an adult, Daniel is a handsome youth who closely resembles Leylin; standing with his father and brother, the three look more like brothers than two generations. He shares Leylin's hunger for knowledge and opportunity and accepts the risks of entering the Final War. (Chapters 1045–1046 and 1194)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Daniel's strength comes from the Jörmungandr line Leylin creates for him. The corpus establishes the line's source, advancement pattern, and broad inherited authorities, but does not depict Daniel activating named spells; those inherited authorities should not be expanded into unsupported techniques.

Jörmungandr bloodline

Leylin constructs Daniel's bloodline by infusing the child with stabilized portions of his own devouring law and dreamforce, rather than allowing Daniel to inherit an unrefined ancient creature line by chance. The change reaches the cellular level and gives Daniel a violent but mature route whose upgrades require following an already fixed path. That certainty lets him advance before Syre, while the lack of open possibilities makes later law comprehension a harder bottleneck. (Chapters 767, 777, and 782)

The line is one branch of the later Nightmare Hydra inheritance. It avoids the ordinary degradation and instability of inherited Warlock bloodlines, and its bloodline amplification raises Daniel's effective battle power above that of a newly advanced rank 6 Magus. The text names devouring and dreamforce as its governing powers, but does not show Daniel's activation conditions, range, costs, or individual applications. (Chapters 767, 782, and 1045–1046)

Rank 6 Warlock power

Daniel grows from the newly promoted rank 6 stage to the peak of rank 6 over roughly a millennium. At the earlier stage, Leylin estimates that bloodline amplification makes Daniel and Syre individually no weaker in combat than the Flame Monarch; by the Final War, Daniel is close to the realm of laws but still seeks an opportunity to comprehend them. His demonstrated strategic function is protective rather than a recorded duel: his presence with Syre allows the Ouroboros Clan and Farlier family to operate without fear of most ordinary Magus organizations. (Chapters 782, 786–787, 1046, and 1194)
