Boffel

Biography

Host of Sky City

Boffel welcomes Leylin as the Ouroboros Clan's representative, arranges his attendance at the Sage Appraisal, and gives him freedom to explore Sky City under Yuro's guidance. He later finds Leylin in the Great Library and escorts him through the restricted approaches to the Drifting Garden. (Chapters 589–594)

The Monarch's audience

When Stuart challenges Leylin, Boffel warns that the Warlock is a treasured guest but cannot prevent the confrontation. Leylin's ability to withstand a Radiant Moon attack leaves him stunned. Boffel then guides Leylin to the palace and remains outside while the audience begins. (Chapters 594–595)

Appearance and personality

Boffel has a handsome, youthful face, gilded robes and gloves, warm eyes, and a crescent ornament hanging from one earlobe. His manner is sunny, courteous, witty, and attentive to Sky City's laws and diplomatic obligations. (Chapters 589 and 594)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

  • Possesses the radiation, soul force, and authority of a Morning Star Magus. (Chapters 589 and 594)
  • Manifests platinum hair and luminous, angel-like wings. Leylin cannot determine whether those wings come from Boffel's bloodline or a spell, so neither origin should be treated as confirmed. He is known by the title Divine Luminescent Wing, but the corpus does not detail the named technique behind it. (Chapters 588–594)
  • Has enough standing to host distinguished Magi and lead them through Sky City's protected inner districts. (Chapters 589–595)

Relationships

  • Leylin Farlier: Distinguished visitor whom Boffel hosts and escorts.
  • Yuro: Maid from Boffel's villa assigned to accompany Leylin.
  • Weyers: Sky City genius whom Boffel privately regards as Leylin's potential rival.

Items

  • Crescent earring: Distinctive ornament worn by Boffel; no magical function is stated. (Chapter 589)
  • Gilded robes and gloves: Formal clothing rather than demonstrated sources of power. (Chapter 589)
