Biography

The Warlock Union's chosen hope

The Warlock Union hides and heavily cultivates Bevis because his rank 6 Misty Fog Giant bloodline gives him its best prospect of reaching Breaking Dawn and ending the Blazing Flame Monarch's suppression. The protection leaves him powerful but inexperienced, and he treats the resources redirected toward Leylin Farlier as a threat to the role he has been promised. He challenges Leylin's campaign in the language of collective responsibility, but Leylin turns the argument against him by questioning whether a sheltered heir who fears the Monarch can defend the Union. (Chapters 640–641)

Bevis later uses his innate fog to shadow Leylin and tries to compel him to stop. Once detected, pride and the violent emotions carried by his bloodline drive him beyond his original plan of restraint. He assumes a half-grown Misty Fog Giant form, creates armor and weapons from fog, and attacks with force that can shatter space. Leylin petrifies and batters the transformation, then extracts some of its bloodline power. Bevis escapes alive, but the defeat publicly exposes the limits produced by his poor experience and self-control. (Chapters 648–650)

Overshadowed by Leylin

Bevis later attends the celebration of Leylin's victory over the Blazing Flame Monarch, where the achievement Bevis was raised to perform has already been completed by his rival. His hostility remains visible, but Leylin's authority and contribution to the alliance leave no credible basis for open resistance. (Chapters 657–669)

When Leylin returns as the first rank 6 Bloodline Monarch in more than fifteen centuries, Bevis must bow and swear allegiance with the other senior Warlocks. He still intends to advance by absorbing another set of Fog Giant remains, yet Leylin identifies that private plan and calculates both its timetable and chance of success at a glance. The revelation destroys Bevis's remaining confidence in their rivalry: he remains a rank 5 Warlock with a possible path forward, but now understands that Leylin comprehends his bloodline better than he does. (Chapters 768–769)

Appearance and personality

Bevis is proud, aloof, and outwardly haughty, though his behaviour is more calculated than it first appears. Competition with Leylin brings out insecurity, hatred, and an extreme temper.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Bevis is a Radiant Moon Warlock whose combat system is entirely organized around an ancient rank 6 Misty Fog Giant bloodline. It provides exceptional amplification and a route toward Breaking Dawn, but also carries emotional impulses that repeatedly undermine his judgment.

Misty Fog Giant bloodline

Dense bloodline energy surrounds Bevis like fog and blocks attempts to inspect him. His innate Fog lets his body disperse into mist, hide in space, and reconverge in human form; Leylin's ability to detect him demonstrates that the concealment is powerful rather than absolute. The rank 6 lineage also amplifies Bevis enough that, while still at Half Moon, Leylin estimates he could contest senior Radiant Moon Warlocks such as Offa. (Chapters 640 and 648)

The lineage's principal limitation is developmental. At rank 5 Bevis manifests only a half-grown giant, and the bloodline's violent emotional tendencies magnify jealousy and anger until he abandons restraint. Reaching rank 6 is not automatic: even with another giant's remains, Leylin calculates a 65.1 percent chance of advancement after eighty-seven years. The remains are therefore external advancement material, not an innate ability or a completed breakthrough. (Chapters 649–650 and 769)

Giant Transformation and fog constructs

Bevis's Arcane Art changes him into a four-armed Misty Fog Giant. Fog streaming from the transformed body's pores condenses into armor and a weapon, and its physical blows are strong enough to shatter space. Blood-red bloodline power can force off encroaching petrification, showing active resistance, but the transformation is vulnerable to superior bloodline suppression and extraction: Leylin breaks the surrounding fog, bites through the giant form, and forces Bevis back into his wounded human body. (Chapters 649–650)

The corpus does not show Bevis completing a Radiant Moon Arcane Art made from five innate spells, nor does it name a separate fog attack beyond the constructs produced in giant form. His best-established strengths are concealment, transformation, bloodline-amplified physical force, and defensive fog; lack of battle experience and loss of rational control are demonstrated counters to those advantages.
