Yoon Yong
Yoon Yong is the ninth-ranked Hall Master of Thunder God Hall, a former slave who steals the Thunder God Art and rises unusually quickly among the Ten Halls of Chaos. Initially an ambitious assassin, he becomes one of Jaehwan's most vocal supporters and continues the Abyss Expedition even after losing both eyes.
Biography
The Struggle for Gorgon to Catastrophe and the Abyss Expedition
Yoon Yong enters the Great Lands as a Non-Adapter slave of the Flowing Cloud Family while most of his Tower Companions die as battlefield shields. After a century of obedience, he raids the family's secret manuals and steals the Thunder God Art. The family hunts and kills him twenty years later, sending him to Chaos, where he builds Thunder God Hall into the ninth of the Ten Halls in another century. At 207, he attempts to ambush Jaehwan and seize Gorgon's Citadel Lordship, but is accidentally defeated before drawing his hidden dagger. (Chapter 46)
Afterward, Yoon reveals that Geumcheon Hall has conquered Manticore, destroyed Thunder God Hall, and blocked his communications; he escaped only because the other Manticore Hall Masters helped him flee. Needing power beyond the Ten Halls to answer that disaster, he pledges to become Jaehwan's “loyal shadow.” He reaches the tournament quarterfinals, withdraws rather than stage another hopeless duel, and then trains under Jaehwan. Relationships
- Jaehwan: Yoon first tries to assassinate Jaehwan, then recognizes in him the strength needed to answer Manticore's fall. Training, war, and shared losses transform his pledge of service into a painful but durable loyalty. (Chapters 46–49, 56–61, and 71)
