Shiyu

Shiyu is the God of Aging, known as Old Heaven and ranked among the Abyss's Heavens. He first opposes Jaehwan in the Metaverse, but later credits Jaehwan with ending a system he disliked and repeatedly protects him against stronger factions. (Chapters 161–164, 183, 187–188)

Biography

From Metaverse pursuer to Committee ally

Shiyu enters the Metaverse under Chronos's side of the conflict and blocks Jaehwan near the upper floors with pressure greater than a Field Commander's. He pursues the climbing party so effectively that only Imai can hold him while the others escape. After the Metaverse falls, however, Shiyu greets Jaehwan without hostility at the Grand Auction. He explains that he disliked the Metaverse's anonymous chatter and welcomes the return of work and training. When the auction collapses into violence, Shiyu and Thanatos shield Jaehwan from the other gods and fight the Clockmakers, a choice that makes Rift pursue them after the Hachenold Catastrophe. Shiyu and Thanatos later reappear before Great Lord Barcant, having largely avoided Abyss battlefields since the catastrophe. Their intervention signals an independent decision to oppose Rift's conquest, but Barcant's Dragon's Dignity overwhelms them; Shiyu and Eoduksi barely escape and cannot match the Great Lord even together. Shiyu survives the war and appears among Yu Seolha's Committee delegation after Maiad's defeat, making political cooperation rather than victory in single combat his latest confirmed role. Appearance and personality

Shiyu appears as an old man with graying hair tied above his head. He wears a dignified long robe in the Metaverse and casual hanbok at the auction, moving with a loose, swaying gait. His presence feels gentle but heavy rather than openly violent. (Chapters 161–162, 183)

He is courteous, observant, and fond of lecturing younger beings about diligence. He can revise a former hostility without pretending it never happened, and his decision to protect Jaehwan shows that his old-fashioned manner does not prevent him from opposing established gods.
