Ja Geukryeong is the calculating Hall Master of Goddess Hall, known as 《Chaos》's mastermind. She tries to redirect Gorgon's tournament and command of the Abyss Expedition through rhetoric, studies Jaehwan's training methods, and later sides with Dryad and Garuda at Three Cities Converge.

Biography

The struggle for Gorgon

Ja Geukryeong enters Gorgon's tournament with Hye-yeong and a deputy, but refuses Jaehwan's invitation to fight because the group came to control the expedition rather than win the Citadel Lord's seat. She publicly volunteers for the Abyss Expedition, exposes the tournament as a recruitment device, and uses Skills and planted supporters to turn the crowd toward unity. Her apparent endorsement of Jaehwan as commander becomes a staged test of character meant to put his leadership under her faction's terms. Before the maneuver can conclude, the Catastrophe army attacks Gorgon and forces political theater aside. (Chapters 53–55)

The sight of Jaehwan splitting the Forgotten One horde changes the immediate problem from whether he deserves command to whether the Hall Masters can survive the coming war. During training, Ja Geukryeong quickly understands his claim that centuries of reliance on Skills and status have bound the Hall Masters to the System. She challenges the risk of Awakening with knowledge of Rift's Great Disappearance and the suicide of former companions who lost their sense of self. Choosing continued Adaptation instead, she presses Jaehwan to explain how high-stage Adapters can grow in one week and grasps his answer: they will teach one another the top-class Skills each has guarded. Two years later, Ja Geukryeong switches to Garuda and Dryad's side during Three Cities Converge, claiming that faction has the better chance to replace the Expedition Commander. She attacks Cayman with hidden weapons while he fights the Jade-Faced Lord, but underestimates the different passage of time inside Jaehwan's Tower and the degree to which Cayman has advanced. Her last direct scene ends amid that failed confrontation; the chapters establish neither her death nor a later role in the Liberation Army. (Chapters 61–62)

Appearance and personality

Ja Geukryeong initially hides her face behind a veil, removing it when she activates 「Eyes of Justice」 before the tournament crowd. The narration emphasizes the compelling gaze that makes people lower their heads rather than giving facial details. In combat, hidden weapons pour from her sleeves. (Chapters 53–54 and 62)

Intelligent, skeptical, and politically agile, Ja Geukryeong notices implications before other Hall Masters and uses language as a battlefield. Her public appeals combine real knowledge of 《Chaos》's hopes with coordinated support and deceptive rhetoric. She is proud enough to bristle at criticism and Jaehwan's challenge, but does not let wounded pride push her into uncertain Awakening. Eyes of Justice and rhetoric Skills

「Eyes of Justice」 is a top-grade Skill activated through Ja Geukryeong's unveiled gaze. It looks into the heart and presses observers to reflect on what they consider righteous. She combines Sound Amplification with the top-grade rhetoric Skills 「Subtle Deception」 and 「Deceive the World and Delude the People」, covering logical gaps through tone and delivery and shaping a crowd's understanding of the tournament. Adaptation and combat

Ja Geukryeong is a seventh-stage Adapter with agility and strong instincts but poor stamina according to Jaehwan's assessment. She uses hidden weapons from her sleeves and improves during the extended Tower training, yet the chapters provide no named offensive Skill or decisive individual victory. Her decision not to attempt Awakening preserves existing Skills and status while limiting the route by which she can close the gap with Awakened Ones such as Cayman. (Chapters 56–58 and 61–62)
