Aisa Lindcroft
Aisa Lindcroft is the 970-year-old Citadel Lord of Dryad, whose fear of repeating 《Chaos》's earlier devastation initially makes her cooperate with the Lord of Steel against Jaehwan. After witnessing Gorgon's voluntary resistance, she changes sides and joins the struggle against the Palace of Rebirth.
Biography
Three Cities Converge
Aisa first warns Gorgon of an urgent southern threat, then attends Three Cities Converge and supports Garuda's proposal to reevaluate command of the Abyss Expedition. Her position has been shaped by Hye-yeong, an envoy of the Lord of Steel, who identifies Jaehwan as a Threat Point seeking to unite 《Chaos》. Aisa remembers the slaughter that followed when Mulack Armelt received the same designation nine hundred years earlier and concludes that removing Jaehwan may prevent another hopeless war. That fear leads her to challenge Gorgon's absent Citadel Lord and quietly enable an intervention backed by the Great Lands. (Chapters 53 and 60–62)
Gorgon's forces win the confrontation, and Cayman separates Aisa from the other captives for a long private discussion. Aisa agrees to trust him provisionally, then sees the changed Cayman and Gorgon's residents entering a Tower of Nightmares by choice. No Cultivator is turning them into Products; frightened people voluntarily face new nightmares to gain the strength to protect themselves. The scene answers the question she and Cayman have carried for centuries: souls shaped by the old defeat can change and reclaim freedom through their own choice. Aisa consequently accepts the possibility of the Abyss Expedition and asks where she can meet the man who restored that agency. (Chapter 63)
The Regeneration War
When the Liberation Army suffers heavy losses against the Palace of Rebirth, Aisa's clairvoyance can see no “waterway,” or path forward. She proposes surrendering Jaehwan and Gorgon's Tower, then suggests asking the Lord of Steel to fight Pitch Black. Cayman and Euren reject both plans, arguing that sight is not Fate and that 《Chaos》 cannot call itself liberated if one Lord merely replaces another. Aisa does not overturn their refusal. When Jaehwan returns and plans the attack on the Palace, she instead helps reason through the political consequences of unification, identifying the Warlords likely to resist Gorgon and pressing him to name the expedition's final member. (Chapters 70–71)
Appearance and personality
The supplied chapters do not provide a concrete description of Aisa's face, clothing, build, or apparent age. Her visible reactions are controlled but readable: she watches Three Cities Converge with a stiff expression, falls silent before a formidable challenger, and later shows curiosity and even a gleam of hope when Jaehwan selects the expedition group. (Chapters 61–63 and 71)
Aisa is cautious, politically experienced, and deeply shaped by historical trauma. Her support for Steel's plan is not simple ambition; she believes apparent hope has repeatedly invited mass punishment from the Great Lands. That same experience can make her fatalistic and overly dependent on foresight, but she is capable of revision. Unlike the other envoys, she listens to Cayman, recognizes the significance of Gorgon's voluntary training, and begins planning for a future beyond the Palace once Jaehwan demonstrates a path she had thought impossible. (Chapters 62–63 and 70–71)
Powers and limitations
Clairvoyance
Aisa possesses a clairvoyant ability that lets her search for a “waterway,” meaning a viable path through the war's circumstances. The exact range, activation method, and images it provides are not described. During the Liberation Army's collapse, she reports that she can see no such path and treats this as evidence that victory is impossible. Cayman explicitly distinguishes clairvoyance from seeing the future, establishing its central limitation: it can inform judgment without exhausting choices that determined people may create. (Chapter 70)
Citadel Lord authority and experience
As Dryad's Citadel Lord, Aisa can send urgent Messenger Hawks, represent an entire citadel at intercity negotiations, and influence Hall Masters connected to Dryad. She has survived for 970 years and remembers the first Regeneration War, giving her rare institutional knowledge of Threat Points, Lords, and the consequences of rebellion. The chapters do not assign her a named combat Skill, Adaptation stage, or individual battle feat, and she remains silent when challenged by Shin Mugeuk during the Converge. (Chapters 53 and 60–63)
Relationships
- Cayman: Aisa has known Cayman's former despair for centuries and is startled by his transformation. His explanation and Gorgon's chosen training persuade her to trust the new expedition.
- Jaehwan: Aisa initially helps oppose Jaehwan because she fears the disaster attached to Threat Points. She later accepts his leadership, understands his plans for postwar resistance, and shows interest in joining his final expedition group.
- Euren: Aisa challenges Euren during Three Cities Converge and later proposes seeking Steel's help. Euren answers that 《Chaos》 must liberate itself, a principle Aisa ultimately does not obstruct.
- Hye-yeong: Steel's envoy uses Aisa's memory of the old war to secure cooperation against Jaehwan. Once Aisa changes her mind, that influence no longer determines Dryad's position.
