The Genetic Awakening Serum is the perfected awakening treatment reserved for three elite institutions, including Rodova Military Academy. History

A guarded academy monopoly

The Universal Government releases inferior commercial awakening formulas while keeping the refined serum's composition secret and limiting access to three institutions. That monopoly draws heirs of the Great Clans into government-supervised academies and makes Rodova's supply strategically dependent on its competitive ranking. Cadets receive small doses across roughly a year because physical training increases absorption and overall results. Each neon-green dose travels in a secured case and is administered inside a fortified chamber and life-support pod, turning personal advancement into both a medical procedure and an instrument of institutional control. Awakening Leo and Su Yang

Leo Skyshard and Su Yang take their first doses together after an academy disciplinary crisis, under warning that the initial awakening is usually the most consequential and may cause pain, dizziness, lethargy, and disorientation. Su Yang emerges with bloodline pressure and inherited resentment linked to his clan, while Leo's unusually long transformation alters his body and awakens multiple traits, including Monarch's Indifference. Subsequent doses further reinforce Leo's height, muscle density, and bones without guaranteeing a new skill each time. Harder training improves serum absorption, but the resulting traits depend on mind, bloodline history, and individual potential rather than providing a standardized ability set. The serum also creates the risk of Ghost Sleep, an unpredictable nocturnal state in which recipients witness events preserved through their bloodline. Mu Shen helps explain the danger after Leo's episode, while Leo's visions restore information that other factions had tried to suppress.
