Streak
Streak is a quiet Universal Government Monarch selected by Mauriss to invade Juxta alongside Entrail. His near-silent sword techniques and pessimistic discipline make him the restrained half of the pair, but their special countermeasure cannot close the gap against Charles.
Biography
The Juxta offensive and its fatal limit
Mauriss summons Streak and Entrail as powerful but disposable commanders for an assault intended to test whether Soron will defend Juxta. Streak accepts without flourish, prepares his units on schedule, and refuses Entrail's premature certainty even while participating in their wagers. Once the planetary shield falls, he directs the Monarch pair toward major bases and helps inflict severe losses on defenders who cannot contest their rank. (Chapters 636 and 641–647)
Against Charles, Streak's silent attacks and cooperation with Entrail initially fail because Charles reads their intent through aura. Streak drinks Mauriss's concealment potion and lands attacks once that perception is disrupted, but Charles adapts, reveals that he had been managing the fight to deter Raymond, and kills both commanders. Streak's death demonstrates that the potion removes one defensive advantage rather than elevating him to Charles's overall level. (Chapters 648–654)
Appearance and personality
The corpus gives no stable facial, hair, or clothing description beyond showing Streak with a thin longsword and a calm, loose posture in a storm. He speaks in short, clipped statements, prefers calculations to boasting, and is explicitly more pessimistic than Entrail, although he still gambles and commits fully once the invasion begins. (Chapters 636, 641, and 644–645)
Abilities and power progression
- Streak is a Monarch whose speed lets him move like a phantom through weaker formations and single out Transcendent commanders. His ordinary soldiers and ships remain vulnerable, and his rank does not make the invasion casualty-free. (Chapters 646–648)
- [Silent Void Rend] produces an almost invisible, soundless slash that bends the air, while [Cosmic Destroyer] gathers black-violet power for his strongest named attack. Charles can evade or counter both once he reads Streak's patterns. (Chapters 648 and 652–653)
- Intent Concealment Potion temporarily suppresses the killing intent that Charles uses to predict attacks. It enables Streak to breach the defense, but coordinated pressure is still required and Charles eventually reads his movement without that signal. (Chapters 651–653)
- No progression beyond Monarch is shown; his latest state is death in the Juxta battle. (Chapter 654)
Relationships
- Entrail is Streak's co-commander and technical complement, using precise pressure to create gaps for Streak's fast, hidden thrusts. Both die in the same engagement. (Chapters 636–654)
- Mauriss chooses, equips, and deploys Streak as part of a larger probe against the Cult, while regarding him as expendable. (Chapters 636, 644, and 651)
- Charles is Streak's final opponent. Streak can wound him only after suppressing intent, then dies once Charles adapts and reveals the difference in their strength. (Chapters 648–654)
Items
Streak carries a thin longsword and consumes one vial of Intent Concealment Potion supplied by Mauriss. Neither the weapon's name nor its disposition after Streak's death is established. (Chapters 647–653)
