Minerva

Minerva is Rodova Military Academy's leading archer during the Interstellar Circuits. Her composure, preparation, positional control, and specialized arrows make her an important senior counterpoint to Rodova's more impulsive fighters.

Biography

From senior benchmark to championship contributor

When Rodova tests its first-year prodigies against senior students, Minerva faces Su Yang under the pressure of his public contempt and aggression. She refuses the close-range fight he wants, builds a mana-absorbing arrow formation around him, and defeats him without taking a hit. The humiliation drives Su Yang to train obsessively, while establishing Minerva as a tactical benchmark rather than merely an older, stronger opponent. (Chapters 87–90 and 135–138)

As Rodova's star archer, Minerva helps secure the academy's top preliminary seed and wins the opening bout of the main tournament by using difficult terrain to control her opponent. A severe quarter-final injury restricts her availability, but she still fights in the final, injures Damien's mobility, supports Yu Shen's team-first discipline, and shares in Rodova's championship return. Her life after the academy tournament is not supplied. (Chapters 167, 170, 190–193, 200–207, and 233)

Appearance and personality

The corpus emphasizes Minerva's serene expression, measured breathing, graceful movement, and calm bow stance rather than giving fixed facial or bodily details. She is tactically patient, capable of dry humor, protective of team discipline, and willing to rebuke Su Yang when he attacks a defeated teammate instead of focusing on the final. (Chapters 87–88, 170, 183–184, and 202)

Abilities and power progression

  • Minerva reaches Grandmaster before the Circuit selection concludes. She combines high agility and precise archery to maintain distance, exploit terrain, and strike weak points; close-range proficiency is not demonstrated, and her tactics deliberately avoid testing it. (Chapters 88, 132, and 170)
  • Her arrows can create an ice wall and establish a mana-absorbing formation that prevents an enclosed opponent from circulating a skill. These effects require placed shots and positional control rather than functioning as an unavoidable suppression field. (Chapter 88)
  • She can sustain fast barrages from changing angles and pressure armored opponents into environmental mistakes. Heavy direct attacks remain a limitation: Orion's final strike leaves injuries serious enough that doctors recommend rest, and the damage reduces her availability in later rounds. (Chapters 88, 170, and 190–193)

Relationships

  • Su Yang begins as a contemptuous challenger and becomes the opponent most visibly shaped by losing to her. Minerva later treats him as a teammate and demands that he respect their captain. (Chapters 87–90, 135–138, and 202)
  • Yu Shen fields Minerva as one of Rodova's core Grandmasters and protects her recovery rather than spending her while injured. She answers his appeal for a unified championship effort. (Chapters 163, 181–193, and 200)
  • Leo Skyshard spars with Minerva and serves as Rodova's designated clean-up fighter when she falls, reflecting complementary rather than rival roles. (Chapters 154 and 190)

Items

Minerva uses a bow and multiple specialized arrows, including ice-producing and mana-absorbing ammunition. The corpus does not give the bow or any individual arrow a proper name, ownership history, or later disposition. (Chapters 88 and 170)
