Vidalif
Vidalif is the ruler of the Dwarves, the inventor of Thunder, and a legendary craftsman within the Federation. His work rewards Seol Jihu for saving the Federation, helps rebuild Eva, and gives the allied army a decisive weapon in the final war.
Biography
Federation alliance and the rebuilding of Eva
Vidalif first meets Seol at Tigol Fortress as one of the Federation's racial leaders. Although he usually remains inside a private workshop and once refused even Sung Shihyun's request for weapon enhancement, he personally presents Seol with a box of gifts he crafted in gratitude for the Federation's rescue. He then supports the plan to regroup humanity and later travels with the Federation to settle in Eva. The city's imperfect construction visibly upsets his exacting standards, so he leads the Dwarves in rebuilding Valhalla and improving Eva rather than trying to tolerate work they consider fundamentally flawed. (Chapters 153–154, 174)
The final war
Vidalif serves as both a Federation commander and the leader of the Dwarven artillery during the final campaign. He orders cannon formations, loads Thunder himself, and coordinates with Sky Fairy wind magic to accelerate the bombardment. For the decisive attack on Unsightly Humility, he accepts the gamble of committing the Dwarves' entire prepared stock to one perfectly timed volley. He waits until the Army Commander's divinity release subsides, gives the firing order without hesitation, and leaves the target catastrophically damaged for the allied Servants to finish. He also crafts a Special Thunder arrow for Marcel Ghionea, extending Dwarven destructive power into precision attacks. (Chapters 195–199)
Appearance and personality
Vidalif is a short, stocky old Dwarf without a beard. He was born blind and has completely white eyes; his hands are heavily callused, and his grip remains strong. Usually calm and courteous, he becomes intensely distressed by imperfect handwork. That reaction reflects a perfectionist craft ethic rather than simple vanity, and once given permission to correct the work, he focuses on rebuilding and carving with extraordinary care. (Chapters 153, 174)
Abilities and class
Vidalif's principal ability is craftsmanship. He invented Thunder and can refine or adapt the weapon into more powerful forms, produce legendary enhancement materials, and weave the World Tree's protection into equipment. The corpus repeatedly calls him the greatest craftsman among the Dwarves, but does not explain the complete recipes or magical process behind his creations. (Chapters 153–154, 199)
He is also an experienced artillery commander. Vidalif understands how to combine Dwarven cannons with Sky Fairy acceleration magic, holds limited ammunition for a strategically decisive moment, and personally controls the timing of mass fire. These scenes demonstrate leadership and technical judgment rather than a personal combat class; no level or individual martial technique is given. (Chapters 195–199)
