Unsightly Humility

Unsightly Humility is the Parasites’ Second Army Commander, an armored undead warrior who leads spectral cavalry, Death Knights, and other corpse soldiers. He survives the defeat at Arden Valley but is killed during the final war; the separate “what-if” scenario depicts an alternate version still serving the Parasite Queen. (Chapters 87–93, 195–200, 243–244, 246)

Biography

Defeat at Arden Valley

Unsightly Humility attacks Arden Valley’s lower defenses while Undying Diligence and Vulgar Chastity focus elsewhere. When Undying Diligence is killed, he releases Divinity Manifestation to cover the withdrawal rather than continue the failed conquest. The decision saves the remaining commanders but imposes a long recovery and leaves much of their army destroyed, making Arden a costly strategic defeat instead of the quick recapture the Parasites anticipated. Tigol and the final war

Recovered enough to fight at Tigol, Unsightly Humility summons undead troops, supports the control of captured Nests, and again unseals his divinity under pressure. He later invades Haramark and is teleported away by Abhorrent Charity before that commander’s sacrifice. Returning as a vanguard in the final battle, he absorbs concentrated bombardment until repeated Thunder explosions finally kill him, a result explicitly confirmed with the deaths of the other commanders. Appearance and personality

Unsightly Humility appears as a black-armored skeleton with blue lights in empty eye sockets, usually mounted on a spectral horse and carrying a longsword. Divinity Manifestation turns him into a larger dark knight encased in heavy black iron. His giggling cruelty and confidence are recurrent, but he is also pragmatic: he recognizes Seol’s skill at Arden and makes operational choices intended to preserve the surviving commanders. Abilities and class

He is an accomplished mounted swordsman and commands spectral troops that can turn translucent, allowing attacks to pass through them while they phase across a battlefield. He can summon undead and Death Knights, and Divinity Manifestation sharply increases his physical power and resilience at the cost of severe recoil and recovery time. The corpus gives him no Earthling class or numbered level. (Chapters 87, 92, 149–150, 195–200)
