Rose Evangeline

Rose Evangeline is a blonde Grand Pathfinder remembered as the Guardian of Eva. She founded and led the Evangeline organization, protected Queen Charlotte Aria, and pursued reforms that continued shaping Eva after her permanent death.

Biography

Eva's guardian and the Banquet

Rose uses her organization and influence to defend Eva's young queen and to undermine the seven organizations exploiting the city. Kim Hannah later proposes that Rose planted double agents among those groups, but the account is explicitly a well-informed theory rather than confirmed narration. Rose nevertheless acts from a controlling conviction that she must handle problems herself: she rejects Adam Galaev when they disagree over freeing Urara Hoshino, and she quietly sends a message to Eun Yuri after recognizing the trainee's unusual potential. Her choices combine genuine concern for Paradise with distrust that limits cooperation. (Chapters 128, 130, 132–133, 139–141)

At the Banquet, Rose volunteers to enter the Plaza of Sacrifice for reconnaissance so that her younger sister can leave the stage. She dies in Paradise and then hangs herself on Earth, making the loss permanent. The corpus never establishes what wish compelled her to enter the Banquet despite Charlotte's pleas or why she chose suicide after returning. Her death deprives Eva of its royal partner, leaves Charlotte severely depressed, and allows Jung Sua to inherit authority she later misuses. Rose's unrealized reforms consequently become both a warning and a foundation for Valhalla's later work in Eva. (Chapters 67, 100, 130, 132–133, 143)

Appearance and personality

Rose is explicitly described as blonde and is recognized on sight as a High Ranker. Charlotte remembers her as serious, calm, virtuous, and protective, while Sorg Kühne and Rose's sister describe a more difficult trait: she trusts few people, expects little from institutions, and tries to carry responsibility alone. The corpus also calls her somewhat egotistical, but consistently distinguishes that flaw from Jung Sua's opportunism. (Chapters 67, 130, 132–133, 143)

Abilities and class

Rose is a Grand Pathfinder and High Ranker, establishing advanced scouting and navigation expertise, but the supplied scenes do not name her level, Status Window skills, or individual combat techniques. Her clearest additional capability is intelligence work through Evangeline: she apparently built covert contacts and gathered evidence against Eva's predatory organizations. Because Kim Hannah labels the double-agent account a theory, its exact scale and methods remain uncertain. (Chapters 67, 128, 130)

Relationships

  • Charlotte Aria: Rose protects Charlotte like an elder sister and helps her trust Earthlings. Her death becomes one of the losses behind Charlotte's withdrawal and fear of bidding later allies farewell. (Chapters 130, 132, 143)
  • Sorg Kühne: Sorg respects Rose's principles and ability but criticizes her refusal to rely on others, especially her break with Adam Galaev. (Chapter 132)
  • Seol Jihu: Seol meets Rose only briefly, then repeatedly encounters unfinished work connected to her. He comes to see her as a principled predecessor rather than a flawless model. (Chapters 67, 130, 139–141)
