Roe Scheherazade

Roe Scheherazade is the queen of Scheherazade whose exploitation by Sinyoung and grief for her murdered husband drive her to cooperate with the Parasites. Her last change of heart makes one of the Royal Oaths available for Seol Jihu's resurrection, and Seol later revives her in turn.

Biography

Captivity, revenge, and a final reversal

Roe rules Scheherazade in name, but Sinyoung has treated her as a puppet since Yun Seojin's tenure. After Sinyoung members poison her husband Gairos and subject her to repeated abuse, she comes to regard Gorad Boga as her only refuge and revenge as her only release. She activates the city's mechanism for the invading Parasites, intends to destroy both Sinyoung and Scheherazade, and offers humanity an impossible bargain: annihilate everyone connected to Sinyoung or watch her use the Royal Oath to aid the Parasites. She admits that Seol did not cause her suffering, but resents him for leaving Sinyoung intact when he had the power to act. (Chapters 179–181)

Roe later watches Yun Seora execute the Sinyoung members trapped outside Gorad Boga and decides to trust her promise that the guilty will be punished. Roe dies after leaving a will that transfers her Royal Oath to anyone willing to spend it on Seol's resurrection, an intentionally open formulation that reveals her changed position. More than a year later, Seol uses a Divine Wish to revive Roe and reunites her with Gairos. She initially assumes that renewed life means renewed humiliation, so her relief comes only when she discovers the real purpose of the revival. (Chapters 189–190, 206)

Appearance and personality

Roe is a blonde woman whose royal dress and beauty mark her public position; at their first meeting, her wide-eyed stare strikes Seol as almost rabbit-like. Her later conduct alternates between formal composure, ecstatic cruelty, cold denial, and profound despair. Those extremes are tied to prolonged coercion and bereavement, but the corpus does not reduce her choices to innocence: she knowingly places an entire city and humanity at risk before changing course. Abilities and class

No numbered class, combat level, or personal fighting technique is established for Roe. Her demonstrated power is institutional and oath-based. As Scheherazade's rightful queen, she can operate Gorad Boga's city-scale mechanism and freely transfer her Royal Oath; the transfer must be made by the owner without brainwashing or forced control. The oath can compel the Seven Sins within its authority, but cannot override the higher-ranked Chief Deity's work. (Chapters 179–180, 190)

Relationships

• Seol Jihu: Roe blames him for sparing Sinyoung, yet ultimately makes her Royal Oath available for his resurrection. He later revives her and confronts her with the possibility of living beyond revenge. (Chapters 175, 180, 190, 206)
