Raging Temperance

Raging Temperance is the Parasites’ Fourth Army Commander. Although initially described as a Unicorn, the entity at his core is a Darkshini from the Spiritual Dimension whose unstable union with a divinity produces both extraordinary speed and a fatal loss of control. (Chapters 119, 145–147)

Biography

Spirit Realm campaign

The Parasite Queen sends Raging Temperance and a huge army into the Spirit Realm after he has yielded to her authority. He appears as a white Unicorn protected by a blue barrier and releases stored Nightshades while moving too quickly for ordinary human senses. The expedition force consequently treats slowing and isolating him as its central problem, using a curse and coordinated pressure instead of attempting to match his speed directly. (Chapters 119, 145–147)

Unstable manifestation and death

Raging Temperance releases his Nightshades so he can manifest his divinity, but his incomplete absorption of that power causes the transformed Darkshini to lose reason and attack allies as well as enemies. Twisted Kindness ultimately separates his true body from the divinity and sends the Darkshini back toward the Spiritual Dimension, ending his existence as an Army Commander. The victors recover the remaining divinity so that it cannot rebuild him in Paradise. (Chapter 147)

Appearance and personality

His principal vessel is a brilliant white Unicorn surrounded by a bluish barrier. When his divinity is released, he becomes an enormous dark shadow boiling around a core of white light. He is proud, greedy, and self-righteous; those traits help explain why he attempts to contain power he cannot properly absorb, but the precise history of how he acquired the Unicorn body is not fully narrated in the supplied corpus. (Chapters 145–147)

Abilities and class

Raging Temperance possesses extreme speed, a defensive barrier, and control over a large host of Nightshades stored within his body. Divinity Manifestation grants tremendous raw power and shakes the surrounding area, but he must first expel the Nightshades, and the resulting form is mentally unstable. He has no Earthling class or numbered level; Fourth Army Commander is his Parasite rank. (Chapters 145–147)

Relationships

  • Parasite Queen: She deploys him as an Army Commander after bringing him fully under her command. (Chapter 119)
  • Twisted Kindness: She intervenes when his manifested form becomes uncontrollable and separates the Darkshini from its divinity. (Chapter 147)
  • Seol Jihu: Seol’s expedition engineers the pressure and curse that force Raging Temperance into his unstable final form. (Chapters 145–147)
