Haeryeo

Haeryeo is a Foxman child whose curiosity draws her and her younger sister Haeya into forbidden territory. Her escape from poachers brings Seol Jihu's expedition into contact with the Federation and eventually leads both sisters safely home.

Biography

The forbidden ground and rescue

Curious about a Sky Fairy ritual, Haeryeo secretly follows it toward the Pagoda of Dreams with Haeya despite the Federation's prohibition. The sisters become lost and encounter poachers, who capture Haeya while Haeryeo narrowly escapes. Burdened by guilt and frightened for her sister, Haeryeo tells Seol's expedition what happened rather than continuing alone. Her account lets the group anticipate the pursuing poachers, recover Haeya, and bring both children toward Federation territory, where the sisters also learn that entering the forbidden ground has exposed them to a contagious curse. (Chapters 107–108)

Haeryeo reunites with her mother and returns home, but later remains friendly with Seol. She and Haeya greet him beneath the revived World Tree after the Tigol Fortress victory, then join the Federation's migration to Eva. Their hopeful reaction to the human city shows the consequence of that settlement at a child's scale: a dangerous border encounter gives way to a new home they believe will be safer. (Chapters 108, 153, 174)

Appearance and personality

Haeryeo is a young Foxman with a visible tail and resembles Haeya. She is curious enough to break a serious rule, but once the danger becomes clear she is frightened, remorseful, and protective of her sister. Later scenes show her as lively and teasing, comfortable enough around Seol and other Federation children to play freely and make jokes. (Chapters 107–108, 153)

Abilities and class

The corpus gives Haeryeo no class, level, combat ability, or named power. She is fast enough to evade a pursuing band of poachers long enough to reach Seol's expedition, but the scene does not establish whether that speed is a trained ability or simply an act of desperate flight. (Chapter 107)

Relationships

  • Haeya: Haeya is Haeryeo's younger sister. Haeryeo's guilt, escape, and appeal for help are all driven by the need to recover her safely. (Chapters 107–108)
  • Seol Jihu: Seol's expedition protects Haeryeo, recovers Haeya, and delivers both sisters to the Federation. They later greet and play with him as trusted friends. (Chapters 107–108, 153)
