Holy Mother
The Holy Mother is a Primordial who founded the Holy Church’s power structure and serves as the source of the Holy affinity.
Biography
The Floor Climb and Challenge Dungeons
The Holy Mother first entered Earth’s story through her invitation and blessing of Jacob, elevating a fate-sensitive human who could guide the Church in the new universe. Her larger history includes creating a soul-altering route into the Holyland and maintaining an endless conflict with the Blightfather’s Risen. During Nevermore she observed the rising generation beside her old rival, and after Ell’Hakan exploited divisions within her Church, she gave Jacob regional authority as a counterweight. She later joined the investigation into forces falsely invoking Holy involvement and treated the unknown conspirators as a common threat. (Chapters 69, 95, 353, 790, 1066–1067, 1199)
Appearance and personality
The corpus references religious images of the Holy Mother but does not provide a dependable description of her true body. In direct divine company she is calm, controlled, inquisitive, and capable of pointed disagreement without losing composure. Her benevolent public image coexists with severe pragmatism: she tolerates internal competition and an engineered war because she believes the struggle produces purpose and stronger followers. (Chapters 790, 795, 1199)
Path, class, and abilities
The Holy Mother is the origin and supreme wielder of the Holy affinity. She grants blessings, applies holy power through avatars and followers, reads or follows karma and fate, and uses a Transcendent skill that alters souls at death so they can enter the Holyland. This system is powerful but not universal: souls transformed through incompatible forces, including some vampiric or Risen processes, cannot simply be claimed. (Chapters 69, 95, 229, 353)
Her influence is amplified through the Holy Church, yet the faction has splinter groups and can be manipulated without her immediate approval. She also cannot decisively destroy the comparably powerful Blightfather, leaving their conflict in a negotiated, recurring equilibrium. Her latest demonstrated action is investigative and political rather than a new combat technique. (Chapters 353, 790, 1066–1067, 1199)
Relationships
- Jacob is the Holy Mother’s blessed Augur and regional agent. She uses his fate-related aptitude and later expands his authority when other Church factions prove vulnerable to manipulation.
- Blightfather is her enduring ideological and military rival. Their factions wage constant war, but neither Primordial can force a final victory, so they sometimes negotiate or cooperate against larger dangers.
- Malefic Viper is an ancient peer whose return and Chosen draw her scrutiny; their exchanges mix caution, curiosity, and the restraint expected among Primordials.
