Homer's Ring

Homer's Ring is a mythical artifact that amplifies magic-related ability and gradually raises its wearer's intelligence.

History

Retrieval and awakening

Evil Society identifies the unawakened ring and obtains temporary custody during a struggle over it. Hajin targets the ring itself, snatches it from the Djinn holding it, and later examines its mud-like shell. By supplying the required awakening through Setting Intervention, he causes the outer surface to crack away and reveal a platinum-colored ring. He wears it long enough to benefit from its intelligence increase, although its magic amplification is poorly matched to Stigma because the mark itself cannot wear the ring. (Chapters 50–53, 113, and 141)

Gift to Yi Byul

Hajin eventually stores the ring in Stigma's extradimensional space while considering a better owner. Although he once regarded Chae Nayun as the most efficient recipient, he chooses Yi Byul instead because her large magic-power capacity can use the amplification. He places it in her palm as a gift, explicitly changing the ring's owner. (Chapter 220)

Abilities and properties

  • Amplifies abilities involving magic power, including control, adaptability, and materialization. (Chapters 50 and 53)
  • Gradually raises the wearer's intelligence up to a stated limit reached after approximately one year; gains already acquired remain after the ring is removed. (Chapter 53)
  • Is not a binding item and can be transferred freely. (Chapter 53)
