Seraine
Seraine is a politically important noble and martial figure of the Republic of Leores.
Biography
A noble of Leores
Seraine meets the outsiders as a politically important noble of the Republic of Leores and initially shares the local contempt for Hajin's F-rank classification. Rather than accepting Kim Suho's endorsement, she chooses to test the sharpshooter herself. Hajin's massed gunfire against the enemy force overturns her judgment, and she responds to the evidence by recognizing his value. Seraine subsequently works within the alliance forming around Suho, Sahyuk, and Shimurin, including supporting facilities used to prepare fighters for the coming war. Her shift from rank-based skepticism to practical cooperation mirrors Leores's broader need to trust people from outside its established order. (Chapters 322–325, 327–328, 331–332, 334, 338–339)
Appearance and personality
Seraine carries herself with a noble's confidence and can be proud or demanding when first assessing someone. She is not immovable, however: a convincing demonstration changes her position, and she invests in useful cooperation afterward. (Chapters 322–325, 331–332)
Gifts and abilities
No named Gift is established. She is trained in the martial culture of Leores and possesses the authority and resources to support military preparation as well as take part in high-level decisions. (Chapters 322–325, 331–339)
Relationships
Kim Suho's position as Sword Commander links Seraine to the outsiders, while Hajin earns her respect by proving his ability. She also deals with Shimurin as a patron of training and research facilities. (Chapters 323–325, 331–332)
