Medea

Medea is the Tower of Wish administrator who rules its third-floor city, Prestige. She creates quests, controls rewards and ceremonies, and uses the Tower's condensed magic to reshape the city, most visibly by creating its artificial First Sun. Her ambition to return to the Phenomenon Realm eventually makes her the first administrator to descend to Earth, where an oath binds her immense power to humanity's defense.

Biography

Ruler of Prestige

Medea is introduced as Prestige's administrator and the only local authority above its magically strengthened guards. From screens and system windows, she explains the city's ascent conditions, distributes stat-based gifts, and later marks the four Demon Spires as control towers. Her damage-contribution system motivates Players with TP and rare rewards, turning the struggle against Prestige's demons into a contest she can supervise from above. (Chapters 168–174)

After the spires fall, Medea summons the highest contributors to her extradimensional palace for a merit conference. Refusing the invitation means losing rewards and earning her displeasure, while attendance leads to food, door blessings, and prizes chosen according to contribution. Her elegant entrance and taste for conflict reveal a ruler who makes Prestige's incentives, ceremonies, and social order revolve around her judgment. (Chapters 180–183)

Creating the First Sun

Floor administrators are dead heroes summoned through the immense magic condensed inside the Tower, and Medea retains the identity and memories of the mythical sorceress. Seeking a large achievement, she requests the Essence of the Sun and other ingredients from Players. The project culminates above her palace, where fire essence becomes an artificial sun that supplies the light Prestige had lacked. (Chapters 195–208)

The First Sun is both civic creation and personal strategy. Its blessed first light cures low-level abnormal conditions, restores statistics, and transforms Prestige's black sky and economy, but Medea privately built it to increase the “fulfillment” needed for her own descent. She improves the city through administrator-scale magic while treating that improvement as proof that her existence deserves a place outside the Tower. (Chapters 207–215)

Administrator politics and preparation for descent

Medea attends the Phenomenon Realm Gathering, where administrators with their past-life memories intact trade magic, artifacts, gossip, and political pressure. Her love of unique beauty leads her to pursue Kim Hajin's original clothing because ordinary Tower relics honor their dead owners rather than increasing an administrator's own state of existence. The limitation makes craftsmanship, achievement, and recognition necessary parts of her escape plan. (Chapters 211–230)

After two centuries of wanting the Phenomenon Realm, Medea commissions a magician's robe and ceremonial dress to finalize her descent. Hajin agrees only after she swears over a covenant dagger never to betray humanity and to help humans at all costs. Basilisk-fang powder completes the garment, and delivery of the Ceremonial Descent Robe gives her the prepared vessel she cannot produce by raw magic alone. (Chapters 275, 296, and 311)

First Descender and the devil war

Medea emerges on Earth as the first Descender, a revived ancient demigod whose suppressed magic unsettles Chae Joochul and Heynckes. She demands a beautiful life, a Seoul mansion, a workshop, and servants, yet reaffirms that she will lend humanity her strength because she does not want her new world ruined. Vanity and self-interest therefore coexist with an oath she continues to honor. (Chapter 329)

Her successful descent does not remove the Tower's limits for everyone else. Medea explains that she spent hundreds of years preparing and that Crevon lacks the energy to follow her, then carries messages between worlds and returns to synchronize Crevon's time for the Dimensional Entropy plan. During the final war, her floating Magic Castle joins the battlefield, and she later arrives with Empress Araha and Crevon's generals after Baal's defeat. (Chapters 347–348 and 364)

Appearance and personality

Medea is a breathtakingly beautiful woman with blonde hair and green eyes. At her merit conference she wears a blue dress beneath a red robe and carries herself with practiced elegance; as a descended demigod, she favors elaborate ceremonial clothing and expects surroundings worthy of her status. Her beauty is not merely decorative, since unique, original finery helps increase the state of existence needed for descent. (Chapters 170, 183, 215, 230, and 329)

She is proud, theatrical, acquisitive, and intensely competitive. Medea enjoys grandeur and conflict, holds grudges over gambling losses, and can alternate between graceful courtesy and naked irritation. She also bargains seriously: once her descent is secured, she keeps her covenant with humanity, conveys Crevon's request, and uses her magic in the final defense of the world she chose to inhabit. (Chapters 183, 211, 215, 275, 311, 329, and 347–364)

Gifts and abilities

As a high-ranking administrator, Medea can communicate through system displays, issue floor-wide quests, track contribution, confer blessings, and govern access to rewards and spaces associated with Prestige. Her palace occupies extradimensional space, and she can place subtle tracking magic on a Player. Within the Tower's hierarchy, she is a powerful ruler rather than the creator of the Tower itself. (Chapters 170, 174, 180–183, and 209–211)

Medea is an ancient demigod and great sorceress with an immense reserve of magic. She creates Prestige's artificial sun from fire essence, teleports through spell recitation, moves between Earth and Crevon, and deploys a flying Magic Castle during the war against Baal. The corpus does not give her magic a single named Gift, and most of her full combat potential remains deliberately suppressed or off-page. (Chapters 207–208, 329, 347–348, and 364)

Her power has important dimensional limits. Administrators are reconstructed souls bound to the Tower, and even Medea needs fulfillment, a stronger state of existence, centuries of preparation, and a specially made descent outfit to live in the Phenomenon Realm. She cannot simply bring Crevon's army after her; that larger descent requires the external energy of Dimensional Entropy and careful synchronization between the worlds. (Chapters 195, 215, 275, 296, 311, and 347–348)

Relationships

  • Kim Hajin: Medea first treats Hajin as a useful Player, rival gambler, and uniquely talented craftsman. He supplies the original garments her descent requires but uses a covenant to secure her help for humanity. Their relationship remains transactional and quarrelsome, yet she honors the bargain and becomes an interdimensional messenger when he needs Crevon's army. (Chapters 183, 211–230, 275, 296, 311, and 347–348)
  • Prestige's Players and residents: Medea rules through quests, guards, temples, broadcasts, rewards, and selective blessings. The First Sun materially improves Prestige and cures curses, but her private motive is the achievement required for descent, and she initially regards the city's NPC souls with indifference. Her administration helps the city while keeping its rewards and authority centered on herself. (Chapters 168–183 and 195–215)
  • Other administrators: Aphrodite, Athena, Helena, Penelope, Heimdall, Simad, and other administrators are Medea's peers and competitors. Their gathering exists because they cannot interact with Players or NPCs as equals, but it has become a political arena where status, artifacts, beauty, and each administrator's hope of returning to the Phenomenon Realm are contested. (Chapters 195 and 211–225)
  • Chae Joochul and Heynckes: After descending, Medea treats the two elderly Nine Stars like children because she is thousands of years older. They negotiate housing and support in exchange for her participation in humanity's defense, and she confirms the same promise she made to Hajin before revealing the scale of her suppressed magic. (Chapter 329)

Items

Medea's defining possessions are commissioned garments rather than weapons. Hajin creates Medea's Violet Dress and later the Ceremonial Descent Robe, using original craftsmanship and special materials to strengthen her state of existence and complete her passage to Earth. The copied covenant dagger records her oath but is not her property, and the Tower rewards she distributes belong to their recipients after the conference. (Chapters 183, 215, 230, 275, 296, and 311)
