Solongos

Solongos is the armored player god of the Centaurs, first encountered in the unstable northern alliance and later revived into the Pantheon.

Biography

A nomadic god forced into alliance

Solongos begins with a large nomadic territory and a loose alliance with Lim Chun-Sik and Eldar. The Centaurs’ need to keep looting conflicts with the Ogres’ sedentary growth, while pressure from Black Scale pushes Solongos’s priest Tamaridu into choices that rupture trust with Lim’s priest Kajin. Solongos apologizes to the senior player they consider reliable, but cannot spare enough power to repair the alliance. Choi Sung-Woon defeats both northern gods and preserves their vassal statues. (Chapters 47–52 and 148)

Solongos is eventually revived alongside Lim after the death of Atneil fulfills the necessary hardship. Although confused by the world into which they return, they accept Pantheon membership because revived gods are needed to manage Black Scale’s expanding territories. Solongos later becomes Aruna’s official caretaker after supporting the Phoenix’s use, but leaves the practical work to Sung-Woon—a small example of their tendency to admire a powerful asset more readily than manage it. Appearance and personality

Solongos wears iron scale armor resembling a cataphract and a mask that covers their face. They present a martial, imposing image but can be uncertain in Pantheon discussions and defer to Lim as “hyung-nim.” Their loyalty is genuine enough to apologize after the alliance fractures, though their handling of Aruna shows that enthusiasm does not always become responsibility. Powers and abilities

As a player god, Solongos commands Faith-based divine systems, mortal followers, and Divine Control, although they refrain from using Divine Control in the decisive northern defeat. They possess Small Area: Rock and Small Area: Swamp; the latter is described as poorly suited to a nomadic Centaur strategy and passes to Sung-Woon after Solongos’s defeat. The corpus does not demonstrate Solongos activating either area, quantify its range, or name the Domain they later choose as a Constellation. (Chapters 47–52 and 316)

Relationships

• Lim Chun-Sik: Solongos treats Lim as a trusted senior, but conflict between their mortal leaders leaves the alliance unable to withstand Black Scale.
• Choi Sung-Woon: Sung-Woon engineers Solongos’s defeat, later revives them, and ends up handling the Phoenix that Solongos officially oversees.
• Aruna: Solongos supports recruiting Aruna and is named the Phoenix’s caretaker, though the responsibility is largely neglected.
• Eldar: Eldar shares the northern alliance and helps create the pressure that exposes its competing incentives.
