Lim Chun-Sik

Lim Chun-Sik is the player who initially leads the Ogres on the northern coast, first as the senior figure in a loose alliance and later as a revived member of the Pantheon.

Biography

From northern leader to Pantheon member

Lim Chun-Sik builds around a sedentary Ogre society and appears to lead the loose partnership he shares with Solongos and Eldar. He plans to benefit from the Centaurs’ early strength while the Ogres develop through agriculture, but the alliance fractures when its mortal leaders pursue conflicting interests. Lim accepts responsibility for overlooking Eldar’s intervention and tries to reconnect with Solongos as their peoples weaken, yet Choi Sung-Woon’s counterstrategy defeats both northern civilizations and reduces Lim to a vassal. (Chapters 47–52 and 148)

Much later, the Pantheon revives Lim after the expedition against Atneil fulfills the required hardship. He is bewildered by the changed world but accepts the alliance because the players had a reason to restore him and Black Scale’s expanding territory needs gods to administer it. That pragmatic choice turns a former opponent into a continuing participant in Pantheon planning and, after the old system is replaced, a member of the Hall of Myriad Stars. Appearance and personality

Lim’s avatar resembles a Korean man in his early or middle fifties, with facial wrinkles, a sleeveless shirt, shorts, and three-striped slippers. The deliberately ordinary appearance contrasts with the confidence Solongos places in him. He is practical enough to admit strategic mistakes, inclined to think before speaking, and treated by Solongos as a dependable senior rather than merely a convenient ally. (Chapters 47–51 and 174)

Powers and abilities

Lim has the standard authority of a player god over an Ogre civilization, including access to Faith, revelations, creations, and Divine Control, although the northern campaign specifically notes that he does not use Divine Control to preserve his forces. The corpus demonstrates strategic planning and later divine administration but does not identify his Small Area, a unique Domain, a named miracle, or the Domain he chooses as a Constellation. His exact supernatural specialties therefore remain unknown. (Chapters 47–52, 174, and 316)

Relationships

• Solongos: Solongos initially follows Lim as a reliable leader, but conflict between their mortal priests strains the alliance before both players are defeated and later revived together.
• Choi Sung-Woon: Sung-Woon defeats Lim’s Ogre strategy, keeps his vassal statue, and eventually restores him as an allied god needed to help govern the growing Empire.
• Dordol: Dordol is Lim’s apostle and becomes one of the Empire’s most important supreme commanders.
• Eldar: Eldar is the third member of Lim’s loose northern alliance; her intervention helps expose the partnership’s unstable incentives.
