Simo is a pink Xolotl inventor whose unpopular electrical experiments grow into power infrastructure and weapons central to Avartin’s space program.

Biography

From street inventor to Queen of Electricity

Simo begins as an impoverished street inventor whose batteries are dismissed beside chosen ones’ spectacular lightning. Owen funds the research, stages an exaggerated demonstration to secure investment, and insists that Simo’s vision matters more than the trick. Simo then receives a bounded correction from Toolbo, completes a genuine generator and transmission system, and defends ownership of the knowledge amid commercial and military pressure. Kidnapping and corporate conflict make the invention dangerous, but allies preserve the inventor capable of improving it rather than merely a patent. (Chapters 217–226)

Over the following years, Simo becomes the Itimo Group’s Queen of Electricity, gaining enormous research support and a reputation for exhausting collaborators with her pace. She applies electromagnetic acceleration to an electron cannon built around multiple power plants and airships. During the moon-facing plan, that system launches Lakrak’s Divine Spear as a projectile, intercepting Loom’s Lightbeam. The achievement joins Simo’s electrical future to a relic of the past and turns an apparently wasteful experiment into planetary defense. (Chapters 276–282)

Appearance and personality

Simo is a small Xolotl woman with pink skin. Taller species often mistake her for a child even when she is over thirty, and her appearance changes little across long years. She is insecure about early failures but intensely persistent, quick to argue when research is threatened, admiring toward Owen, and demanding enough that researchers can lose their health trying to match her pursuit of results. Powers and abilities

Simo’s abilities are scientific rather than innate magic. She develops batteries, generators, long-distance electrical distribution, electromagnetic acceleration, and the electron cannon, working through capital, technicians, power plants, cables, and repeated prototypes. Toolbo’s dream intervention adjusts one generator only within causality, while Owen’s lightning falsifies the first flashy demonstration; neither replaces Simo’s later engineering. Her largest weapon is powerful but tremendously inefficient and requires distributed infrastructure plus a suitable projectile. (Chapters 218–226 and 276–282)

Relationships

• Owen: Owen becomes Simo’s teacher, financer, accomplice in the first demonstration, and protector when rival interests try to seize her.
• Toolbo: Toolbo answers Simo’s prayer with limited technical corrections and encourages her to exercise the freedom mortals have beyond apostolic causality.
• RD: Simo follows the Folded Wing Golden Bird because inventors identify more closely with RD’s tradition of unconventional creation.
• Talay: Simo clashes loudly with Talay over resources for the moon-facing plan, though their competing projects ultimately serve the same defense.
