Salkait is the founding Gnoll king of the Ears Cut Tribe and Hegemonia’s first apostle, a martial counterpart to Lakrak across successive ages.

Biography

The rival who keeps returning to battle

Salkait begins as chief of one of the wilderness’s two strongest tribes. Their devotion to the Angry Teeth God places the Ears Cut Tribe against Lakrak’s Black-Scaled Lizardmen, yet Salkait is not easily deceived: they reject Automation’s supposedly free offer just as Lakrak does. After death, Salkait returns as Hegemonia’s first apostle and founding king. Their reunion with Lakrak becomes a clash of hammer and spear so violent that it produces thunderous shockwaves and earthquakes, ending only when Hegemonia recalls Salkait because the surrounding revolution makes further combat pointless. Salkait later acts as Hegemonia’s direct battlefield instrument, walking into an imperial palace without deference, joining the decisive war, and answering the Angry One’s summons during the assault on the old gods. Bitter about an earlier defeat, they kneel to Hegemonia and accept her demand to prove that anger through action. They summon Gnoll warriors from ruined shadows and help establish the front through the Myriad Demons, temporarily setting aside old hostility when Lakrak arrives with the same enemy. Appearance and personality

Salkait is an experienced Gnoll warrior who carries a massive war hammer or sledgehammer about the size of their head. They are proud, combative, greedy enough to recognize bargains with hidden prices, and wholly comfortable expressing respect through challenge rather than ceremony. Their fierce loyalty to Hegemonia coexists with practical judgment: when a larger battle demands cooperation, they can postpone antagonism without pretending it has disappeared. Powers and abilities

Salkait combines apostolic strength with exceptional hammer technique. They can trade blows with Lakrak, destroy ground with a strike, produce battlefield-scale shockwaves, and survive exchanges described as a natural disaster. Under Hegemonia’s command, their anger also calls past Gnoll warriors from shadows beneath ruins.
