Anakse is Lakrak’s Cockatrice mount, remaining beside the first apostle through mortal death, resurrection, and battles far beyond Avartin.

Biography

The mount that crosses death with Lakrak

Anakse carries Lakrak directly toward Jeol Woo-Bi during the battle that ends White Tooth, sharing the impact when the evil god’s hammer strikes both rider and mount. The Cockatrice eventually dies after remaining with Lakrak to his final moment, but Night Sky’s afterlife preserves their bond. When Lakrak is revived for battle, Anakse bursts through the thorn field in lightning and lends speed equal to a divine bird, making the dead mount an active part of the apostle’s renewed campaigns rather than a discarded relic. Anakse later returns armored for the war against Hegemonia, carries Lakrak through charges that disrupt entire formations, and crosses the void during the attack on Loom. The mount follows Lakrak’s commands without needing lengthy explanation, though it reacts nervously when confronted with the vastly larger Manun. That continuing mixture of courage and animal instinct keeps Anakse a companion with its own behavior, not merely a vehicle created by divine power. (Chapters 246 and 282–283)

Appearance and personality

Anakse is a monstrous Cockatrice: a large bird-like creature with legs suited to running, wings that flap but contribute little during air-running, a beak, and a taste for fallen enemies. It shrieks with joy when Lakrak approaches, can be armored like its rider, and becomes tense around Manun’s gigantic head. (Chapters 131–143 and 246–283)

Powers and abilities

Anakse’s chief abilities are exceptional speed, endurance, carrying Lakrak, and running through air or divine space. After death it borrows Lakrak’s power, appears amid lightning, and can rival divine birds; the wording makes that strength derivative rather than an independent Domain. Anakse can be thrown away by a powerful attack and was killed in mortal history, so neither speed nor afterlife restoration makes the Cockatrice invulnerable. • Lakrak: Lakrak is Anakse’s rider and source of its afterlife power; their practiced coordination continues across death.
