Wan Tianchou

Wan Tianchou led the surviving children of his clan to the Li Family after the Wan Family’s collapse. He took a name meaning “revenge,” then built a modest life in Li service before dying in the Lixia Prefecture massacre.

Biography

A Name Chosen in Defiance

After Mount Huaqian falls, Tianjing leads a group of Wan Family children away from the ruined stronghold and toward the Li Family. When asked his name, he answers “Wan Tianchou,” renaming himself in grief and defiance as he seeks shelter for the survivors. Li Xiangping accepts the refugees and arranges homes and care for the children, giving Tianchou and the remaining Wan family members a place to rebuild. (Chapters 77–78)

A Guardian with Limited Inheritance

After Wan Tiancang dies, Tianchou becomes guardian of Lichuankou. His limited knowledge of the Wan Family’s formation arts is enough to protect its spirit fields. He later marries into the Li Family and takes an assignment in Lixia Prefecture; by then, his cultivation has stalled at the third stage of Embryonic Breathing. After Li Tongya destroys the Ji Family and presents Ji Dengqi’s head, Tianchou’s aspirations fade. (Chapters 78, 79 and 142)

Lost in the Lixia Massacre

Tianchou remains among the Li Family’s representatives in Lixia when the Azure Pond Sect and Golden Tang Gate begin another slaughter. Li Xuanfeng later recognizes his body near the Li Family shop and regrets how little Tianchou had cultivated, then blames the violent world rather than the dead man. (Chapter 164)

Appearance and personality

When he arrives at the Li Family, Tianchou is a young cultivator; years later, he is described wearing gray clothes with a fuller face. He takes responsibility for the children who survive the clan’s fall and later settles into a domestic, practical role within the Li Family. (Chapters 77, 78 and 142)

Abilities and cultivation

Tianchou reaches the third stage of Embryonic Breathing and retains limited knowledge of the Wan Family’s formation inheritance. His formation plates protect the spirit fields from attack. (Chapters 77 and 79)
