Tuoba Ci

Tuoba Ci is a richly equipped Daoist Master of the Tuoba imperial lineage. He fights in the northern campaign and later competes for treasures in a grotto heaven, combining the strength of his inherited artifacts with a willingness to abandon a stalled prize for a more useful one. (Chapters 1428–1430,1572–1575)

Biography

Battle and competing prizes

Tuoba Ci confronts Kuiqi during the northern campaign with two Merciful Ones supporting him. His clan’s preserved grotto heaven and Golden Core heritage give him resources comparable to the major Dao gates, and he initially holds a slight advantage. Hengxing’s intervention draws a mocking response about the decline of Hengzhu’s lineage, while the appearance of Wei Xuanyin receives a respectful bow. The battle’s escalating divine power nevertheless injures Tuoba Ci severely: he coughs blood and loses an arm amid the surging pink radiance. His prestigious backing does not shelter him from the dangers faced by the assembled Daoist Masters. (Chapters 1428–1430)

In the later grotto-heaven contest, he challenges Miao Huanzun over a green cauldron and tries to divide the spoils once they escape the spirit wardens. When Miao refuses, Tuoba strikes the vessel with his halberd, releases its sealed treasures and scatters the pursuing statues. Li Zhouwei intervenes to take the cauldron; Tuoba answers with his Shengle Tuoba seal and a defensive mirror. The seal strains Zhouwei’s Heaven-Venerating Gate, but remains suppressed long enough to frustrate the seizure. Judging that continued delay would cost him the treasures above, Tuoba abandons the cauldron, secures three lightning swords and departs by carriage after a meaningful look at Zhouwei. (Chapters 1572–1575)

Appearance and personality

He wears a tall crown, wide belt and gleaming feathered robe while surrounded by profound yellow qi. He remains composed when his assisting monks leave, but can show cold mockery toward a rival lineage and anger when Zhouwei contests his prize. (Chapters 1428–1429,1573)

Abilities and cultivation

Tuoba Ci is a mid-stage Purple Mansion cultivator with refined divine abilities and black-yellow qi that restrains spirit statues and strengthens his halberd. His family’s Shengle Tuoba seal is famed for resisting suppression, though Zhouwei’s Gate temporarily contains it. He also summons a mirror against Heavenly Radiance, Hidden Light. His strength and artifacts do not guarantee victory: he loses an arm in the campaign and relinquishes the contested cauldron rather than prolong an unfavorable exchange. (Chapters 1428,1430,1573)
